It is, indeed a great lens. The problem was the D600 camera. If you download the photo on page 1 and look about 2 o'clock to the tree branches on the left of the photo, you will find spots on the sensor as pointed out by jethro779. Well, the camera went back to Nikon this week; they received it on Friday. I'm to receive a new D610 in 7 to 10 days and I'll give it a go with the 24-70 again.
