Earlier this week I ordered a Nikkor 24-70 lens from B&H Photo to go on my D600 Nikon. It came in this morning. Attached it to the camera and stepped out on to the back deck to try it out. The attached photo is SOOC. I believe I've got a keeper. But, my is it heavy. Not a problem though.

Picture looks good as do the spots in it. Might be time to clean the sensor.

Thank you Jethro. I appreciate your taking a close look. If I have to, I'll send it back to Nikon...again.

At this level its hardly worth worrying about.

Why don't you learn to clean it yourself. It will be a reoccurring thing.

Thanks for your input, Joer. I took a close look and found some dust on the mirror and cleaned that off with a soft camera brush. Tomorrow I'll shoot the sky and look for spots.

Mirror dust won't show up in the image. Its on the sensor.

Many say that the best travelling lens is one which covers a wide to long focal range.
During my last trip to the Midwest, I packed 2 Nikon bodies with the "Nikon Trinity". Now after checking my recorded photos and rubbing my back with BenGay for the tenth time, I have come to realize that 95 % of my shots were taken with the D800 and the 24-70 mm f2.8. Buy one before you need a chiropractic adjustment. Safely I can say is the all around best lens for travelling.
