Ok as above .. New.. And yes love the prints so far but.. I don't know what I am doing wrong. I want to print out a 11x14 print. Seems easy. I am using element 11. I am using larger paper, and the only thing I can get the printer to do is fill the sheet completely so I have nearly 13 x19 inch prints. I know or I feel I should be able to print out a 8x10 on the large paper if I wanted but for the life of me not sure where to get that set in the software. Canon includes a very nice program called Canon print studio pro. I would welcome a live conversation if someone could walk me through it. Send message. My guess it's something simple in elements... But this is my first foray into printing... Again the prints from this beast are outstanding. But size ?..
Thanks in advance for your expertise and help

I have this printer, but not elements. I mostly use I-photo. There should be a 'custom' setting that you can put in, when you go to print, whatever size you want. As long as the paper is larger that your settings, it should work. I'm not sure if it will put it in the center of the paper, and the settings are not necessarily saved. I bought a cutter with a rolling blade to trim off the excess paper. I hope this helped.

I don't know, but when you resize, can you resize in inches, instead of just an aspect ratio or ppi? That should output in the inches you need. I've never used PSE. There must be many that know PSE.
Good luck

From what I've read this is a "glitch" in the printer's software. Somewhere I saw a work-around, perhaps in Red River Paper's excellent site or in http://www.printerknowledge.com/ BTW I find the user interface pretty unfriendly on the Pro 100. It is nowhere as easy to use as the Epson R1800. Or am I losing it, as some friends have told me?

Okay, I checked Red River's site and they have a really informative review of the Pro 100 including a hack on printing borderless 11x 14 prints: http://www.redrivercatalog.com/infocenter/tips/how-to-print-11x14-borderless-canon-inkjet-printer.html Hope that is some help.

Eagle,

I'm using the Canon Pixma 9000 Pro MK II and it has the same lack of the 11 x 14 preset. A friend sent me a work-around; it seems a bit involved at first reading and is too long to post here, but it works, and I suspect both printers use the same basic software. I don't think this site will let me attach an email, but I'll try to forward it to you as a PM.

I also have the 9000 MK II. You can use the "custom" to select the size print you want.

I also have the 9000 as well as the pro 100. I use macbook computers and I just go to the 'custom' and fill in the numbers. I have made some very odd sizes to fit antique frames. I hope you get it straightened out.

I have the 9000 mkII I use 11x17 setting on 11x14 paper.
The photo has to be off center. Run the closes end first it will print a 11x14 with a 1x8"border on the end. I do this all the time The frame or mat will cover the 1x8" On the photo about 3" was cut off by the printer.

Thanks to all who offered assistance.
In PSE there is a command for resize, and you have a choice between canvas and the image. The canvas is the size of the paper, once you set these up, and then bring up the print command or the Canon print pro software, you can then print a 2x3 image on a 8x10 sheet should you desire. I am still figuring out the intricacies of digital printing, no awards yet.. Lol

In photoshop when you go to Print a dialog box should come up where you can select paper type, "paper size" etc. The pull down menu should give you quite a few selections for size to print at.

With Qimage you can customize your prints size. It is a RIP software that can print using your custom ICC.
