I shoot with a Nikon d610. Does anyone have any experience with the Sigma 35mm 1.4 lens? There seems to be an auto focus problem.
I use a D600, I've shot approx 5,000 shots with the Sigma 35 f/1.4 Art lens. It's a superb lens and I've had no issues, focus or otherwise

Hi Uncle Buck
Ordered the lens from B&H yesterday. The temptation got to me
Thanks
Excellent, it's an amazing lens. I'm sure you'll be very pleased with it. Glad to be of help. This shot was taken with the lens.

I also took the three year warranty from square deal. No questions asked warranty for $134. Beautiful picture and great detail and color.
Thanks
Mickey

Are you personally having a problem with that lens, or you just relating what you've heard from other people? On some bodies, Sigma lenses, even some of the Art series, may have some inconsistent AF. When this happens it's usually at wider apertures and generally with low contrast subjects in bad light. When this does occasionally happen shooting in Live View is a good alternative. There is also the very capable manual focus ring if all else fails. While the USB hub is available to fix front/rear focusing issues it really won't help much with AF inconsistency. As others have reported most lens/body combos don't have too much of a problem with this lens, but some users have reported it.. On my two Sigma's, (not the 35mm) the inconsistencies disappear altogether by f/2.8 to f/4
I purchased the lens yesterday from B&H. I read reviews and the only negative was the auto focus issue.
Do you use this lens and if so, what has been your experience?
Thanks
What other sigma lenses do you use and how are they?
Thanks
I bought the new Sigma 24-105 F4 and it worked well on one of my cameras and would NOT focus on the other camera.
Sigma blamed the camera even though it works well with every other lens I have ( including other Sigmas)
So I returned that lens and will never buy a Sigma again.
Best of luck

I have the older Sigma 30mm f/1.4 (non Art) and the Sigma 18 - 35mm f/1.8 Art. While I love them both, they have occasional AF issues. As I stated earlier those issues are usually when shooting wide open at very low contrast targets. The newer 18 - 35mm Art has far fewer issues with that then the older design 30mm.

IMHO I have never been completely pleased with Sigma lenses. It seems to be they have an issue with build quality. I've tried some which were fine while another sample was not. Nothing scientific. I have never actually bought one because of this. I have owned several Tamron lenses as well as one Tokina. I have been happy with both of those brands. When it comes to great glass, I always go for the Mfr. lenses. For me, Nikon, but Canon and a few others are wonderful as well. FWIW, I do plan to get one of the new Tamron 150-600s, some day! Although I do have a Nikon 400/2.8, this Tokina will be lighter and longer which is important as I pass the big one (60)on Saturday. Just my $ .02!

The build quality of the Sigma ART line is very professional. Those lenses are build like a tank with very solid and smooth focus rings and zoom rings.

Do you mean additional three years, because the Sigma comes with a four year warranty from the factory? I think they got you on that one (waaayy too much for 3 year warranty).
Hi
This is a three year spills etc all comprehensive warranty. I deal with square deal and B&H if I need to and not Sigma. Square deal is very good and service is fast
