It looks slightly out of focus to me. Anybody else?

Definitely not in focus. Zoomed in and can't find any focus area

The picture looks good. You might try cropping the picture to eliminate some of the right side to concentrate on the tomestones in the front as your central theme. I think the contrast in the original is fine.

Looks like you shot with auto WB and exposure so the camera saw a grey world so captured that. Bridgeman treatment #2 got some levels in, and is likely about the best you can do. Still, you might explore mdeman "spooky" by applying 'lights' like a spotlitht from 2 o'clock on the closest stone.
The suggestions on re-shooting are solid and should yield the 'right' look you seek. How about you re-post with the new ones?

400th ? speed ? If yes that seems way too fast for the weather conditions.

I like the original. The objects on the right give it some depth.
It's good given what you had to work with. You still got the detail that matters.

Yup, shutter speed. Yes, it does seem fast. I didn't write down, but that's what the exif shows.

I haven't had a chance to get back there to try it again, but...

We had a cold, cloudy and foggy day last Sat. Thought I'd see what I could find. Shot a few a local cemetery. This was f5.6, 400th, ISO 100 and no flash. This is not PP at all. What you see is out of the camera. I can't put my finger on it, but something looks wrong. Maybe too much contrast? If that's the case, why? I don't know, it just has an "unreal" look about it to me. Thanks

Playing with angle, shadow and light is what I love to do. Especially when the subject is supposed to be a bit gothic. Like grave yards long forgotten. Which I also love to photo.
Here are some of mine as examples for consideration.

I like the solditude and eariness of it.
Also, you have a great background for layering.

Actually, seeing the subject closeness a flash use would have been greatly beneficial that way the color of the stones would have come out.

On a different subject, If you really want folks to give you a pertinent advice,, please post the original picture. It does seems to be out of focus (RMM) and this is a thumbnail, one wonders how much out of focus it really is?

I agree it's much easier to view the original than the posted picture.

This a revisited location. The first shot, the OP for this thread was, in my opinion, just, I don't know, not right. I went back today to try again. Any better?

B/W may be better for this. Using Elements 10, how would I increase contrast? (More black and more white, less grey)
