A bit strongly stated perhaps but point on none the less. The question was entirely inappropriate and unwarranted.

It was strongly worded and I should have been more temperate in my response.

I do not lose my temper very often but when I saw someone trying to make a cheap debaters point by exploiting using someone else's personal tragedy it just lit my fuse.

I never claimed to be perfect and I will try to be more careful in the future.

Bazabo,
After sleeping on it and reading my post again, I agree with you. It was strongly worded. I should note that New York Steve and I are on the same page and I was not trying to debate but was only interested in the care being given. In the future I will word my responses more carefully.

Thank you. I was clearly wrong to let my anger get the best of me and my vulgarity was completely inappropriate and uncalled for. You have me sincere apology.

Thanks, and I will try harder not anger anyone, as once anger surfaces discussion disappears.

The exact thing can be said about the Democrats. You can't disagree with them without being labeled racist, homophobic, or hater. So where does that leave you?
It leaves us free. We don't have to let the discussion be controlled and dominated by the hard core bullies on either side of the ridiculous partisan feuding. We don't have to be controlled by them. We don't have to line up behind one group of them or the other. We don't have to contribute to the anger and insults.

Makes a lot of sense Mike, we should be able to discuss without screaming.
By the way, I checked your links and see you just love the jumpers, a beautiful assortment of Macros.

My macros are not very good yet, especially my attempts at insects, and mostly what I shoot are native plants. But thanks, and there certainly is some spectacular macro work being posted in the True Macro forum and lots of good info and inspiration.

Guys, I'm impressed. This may be the first truly civil thread I've read on this site. Well done!

Why not ask? It is no different than a single male having to pay for woman's birth control pills or abortions. Why would someone blind need vision care.

No matter, ACA is going down, down, down...

Bangee - your point is not without merit, it is however misapplied here. People who are expecting to be supported by others are accountable to the money source just the same as an employee is accountable to his employer. I had to take a drug test in order to gain employment. Am I not entitled to a reasonable assurance that the person I'm supporting through the taxes on the money I earn is not spending my money on drugs? Of course, there should be accountability at all levels. This situation, however, is one where a person has been forced to give up their health insurance which paid for the care, whatever that care may be, necessary to address the needs of a victim of a cruel handicap not of their own doing. They were then forced to enroll in a government mandated program, under the threat of financial penalty, which does not cover those needs. Hardly the same thing as paying for voluntary treatments or preventative medications.

I fail to see why it is misapplied here... this is exactly were it should be applied. No one is being ask to take a drug test here. I and others have ask why should a blind person need vision care, forced vision care, by law by our President and his democrat congress has forced upon us. This is not the first time that steve has posted about this same child born blind but it is not about the child, it is about a law that forces someone to pay for something that they do not need. I am sorry about the child born blind. I am sorry that my cousin has become blind to never see his grand children, but since Steve has brought it to our attention twice that I know of, and I can see how he feels about it - he thinks it stupid, so how do you feel about it? What kind of vision care does a blind person receive?

Bangee - Your points are not being disputed here. I agree, as I noted in my post, that the problem is the law. However, the question was not about the law but about the child needing medical treatment. Not being a doctor, I can't tell you what type of vision care a blind child needs. I'm going to go out on a limb here and assume you're not a doctor either so I'm guessing your knowledge of medical treatment and/or procedures for this child is as limited as mine. I do think it's safe to conclude that whatever treatment is being administered is valid or the original medical carrier would not have approved it. Who's to say that it is not treatment to prevent infection administered by an Ophthalmologist? Would that not come under the umbrella of vision care? Too many unknowns to be drawing conclusions an validity.
I do believe that the law is extremely poor legislation. It has the potential to become the most disastrous legislation in our nation's history. This is what happens when a nation whose educational system is in a downward spiral of entropic decline elects it's leaders. Remember, legislators reflect the constituency. As the intelligence of the constituency declines, so goes the the intelligence of the elect proportionately. That applies equally to all political parties.

The sooner it (ACA) is gone the better. What we had is better than what we got, and how we got it.
