Hi there,

I have noticed that some of my photos are showing bands of colours either on parts of the photo or all of the photo. This only seems to be on a few files during a shoot. Any suggestion?

Do a search above for banding. It's been discussed quite a bit before.

Maybe post a photo with the banding.

Usually banding as you describe is due JPG compression in large areas of the same color shade (sky, skin...) Nothing you can do other than selecting least compression in your camera or, god forbid, use raw if available.

If banding is an horizontal shift of colors you maybe dealing with file corruption.

As a few folks pointed out, a sample image would be nice.

Are you using a polarizer that has been over rotated, or other such filter?

You may want to look up moire as well. It usually effects large areas with a fairly consistant color. Usually, if you select the area, and give it a slight blur, you can pretty much get rid of it.

What camera are you using? My D-70 had more than my D-200, and I haven't seen any at all on my D-7000
