I guess the legal argument for trying this guy in civilian v. military court is that his mob committed murder on US soil (Our Embassy) so it is the same as if he had done it in DC. DC has jurisdiction. So They pounced on this guy in his car and bundled him into a van in less that 60 seconds. There is a video of the snatch circulating. He is now aboard a US Naval vessel, undoubtedly undergoing "conversations" with FBI etc. (He was mirandised shortly after his abduction)

He was mirandised??? Well, now he can "lawyer up", and his good buddies in al qaeda, who happen to have lots of money now, will be able to get him the best!! I thought they were going to wait awhile and possibly question him before being mirandised!!

According to the article in Daily Mail, he was read Miranda just after they picked him up. He doesn't need AlQaeda, there are plenty of Harvard and Yaleys who would jump at the chance pro bono.

The United States has captured a man linked to the Benghazi terror attack that killed a U.S. ambassador and three other Americans, authorities announced Tuesday.

The suspect, Ansar al-Sharia commander Ahmed Abu Khattala, was captured Sunday in Libya somewhere south of Benghazi in a joint U.S. military and law enforcement operation. He will face prosecution in the United States.

I know I feel better now! After we are attacked and killed, our government will apprehend and try the bad guys! Makes me feel safer, doesn't it you? 'Course I'd feel a heck of a lot safer if my government guaranteed and provided adequate security in the first place so I didn't have to be dead before they did something!. Or maybe if they just guaranteed that somebody would TRY to intervene if I am attacked?

Come t' think of it that's why I have a couple of weapons in my house. 'Cause the police can only come AFTER the bad guy does something bad. Just like our government.

The first thing I thought of, is wow.........what a coincidence, they caught someone shortly after a special committee was formed. I wonder why it took so long to loose Lerners' emails.

Well, he will be brought back here and given a lawyer from Harvard or Yale and tried in Criminal Court for murder. And THAT will send a message to other terrorists, that if they catch you in a couple of years they will take you to an air conditioned American jail, with TV and library and all the comforts of home and give you top notch legal representation, and maybe eventually they will trade you for some American guy.

I think a more fitting end would be what our Ambassador got, or a hellfire rocket in the back seat of the guy's car. That would send the correct message, one that would be understood.
Well, he will be brought back here and given a law... (show quote)

The idea that they waited around to capture this guy for political purposes or CYA is silly.

I don't know if it was silly. Reporters did interviews with this guy for the past year - even shortly after the embassy was burned. So the CIA could have grabbed him any time - probably by inviting him to another interview. So what explains the delay if not politics? Especially from an administration which never does anything except for politics. Nice distraction from some serious pending political embarrassments.
