MissStephie, great minds work alike! LOL!

I often wish I had thought to take pictures of some of the weird things my children, grandchildren and dogs have done. Of course, ALL of them were his fault.

I've never laughed at a thread like this one. After last night with my 26 yr. old son I certainly need some laughs.

And despite all the frustrations that children bring us, it's when they run up to you when you get home from work and hug your leg with joy because you're home, or sit on your lap and think that you're just the best thing in the world (well it lasts for awhile!!), or the joy they give you as they grow and learn and become their own persons that make all of it so worthwhile.

One Mother's Day, when my grandson was about two or three, he was going to make coffee for his mom as his gift. It was an automatic coffee maker and he'd watched mom do it so he takes the filter, coffee and creamer and puts a LOT of each into the water compartment on the coffee maker. Luckily, Mom got wise to the quiet and checked up on him. Needless to say, coffee took a while that morning, but it made one of those wonderful memories. I sure do wish I had a photograph of that!!!

When Grant Wood, the American painter of landscapes, was about five years old, his mother left the house for a short time during which he spilled a bottle of India ink when he was drawing on the floor. He was very fearful of what would happen when she came home. When she did, though, there were no recriminations. She cleaned up the mess and gave him a hug. It was at that moment, Wood said later, that he knew that he was going to be an artist.
Yeah, I did something similar when I was young. When my mother caught me, I knew at that point I would be a track star some day. My mother was from Greece.

She can't stay mad forever. Meanwhile you get the last laugh by having the photos. Pretty soon they will be family treasures and you will be the hero.

My wife thinks the photos are great!

We just cleaned all of the rugs and hardwood floors this afternoon because we are having company tomorrow. We were babysitting our grandson tonight. He had just taken a bath 5 minutes before these photos were taken. He is almost 20 months old.

I was in the living room watching tv when my wife calls for me. I said that I would be there in a minute. I knew she was calling from the boy's bedroom. She then repeated her call to me using my full name, Thomas. Not Tom or Tommy, but Thomas. I knew I was in trouble but I hadn't done anything.

Just then, my happy little grandson comes running down the hall in a cloud of white dust. Uh, oh.

How is this my fault? I am not the one who gave the kid a bath. I am not the one who left the baby powder on the changing table. But she manages to say "Why weren't you watching him?"! She was down that hallway herself. Still, it was my fault. I just ignored her and started laughing and grabbed the camera.

Playing with baby powder is not bad compared to trying to potty train a two year old who thought it might be fun to use an empty shoebox instead of the training potty.
When my oldest daughter was 2 years old, she would crap in the closet.
