I currently have two Canon 7D's for wildlife, sports and rodeo. Have L glass for 24-105,70-200, & 300mm IS. Looking at going full frame. Am I better off getting the 5d ll used or should I get the 6D new. The 6d is about $400 more. I do not do video currently.

The 5D II and the 6D are very similar in their basic "set-up". The big advantage the 6D has over the M II is the low-light-capability of it's sensor, it's far better, everything else is pretty even. I would consider the M III. You have the 7D, with the M III you're not giving up a lot of speed either (fps).

98, sell both your 7d's and get a 5lll.
If you insist in keeping them, then get the 5ll used. Look for one at around $1150. Use the rest of the money to get a fast prime, to offset any lowlight capability of the 6d, that will work for your rodeo shots.
The 5lll will out shoot the 7d's, even if you shoot with one in each hand!! Are you getting my drift? The 5lll will outshoot a 1dmklV, and that is still an awesome camera!
Good luck. ;-)

I'd recommend the 6D for its' low light capability and better handling of noise under high ISO conditions.

For primes I have a Sigma 50mm 1.4 Ex,DG and a Canon 85mm 1.8. Don't know if I want to put all my eggs in one basket with the 5D lll.

Save for the 5D III. Incredible camera. Focusing system fantastic. Multiple exposure a great tool. In camera HDR. You have great glass already. Utilize them to best advantage. I love mine. My 2 cents.

I love my 6D, but it is not designed as a sports camera. For the kind of shooting you say you do, don't cut corners if you are going full frame. Figure out a way to get your hands on a 5DMkIII if you can. Sell something, if necessary. One of your 7D's. The dog. Your kids. Your wife's jewelry. Well, maybe not the jewelry if you want to live to use your new camera! :D

Looking at the 6D new vs. the 5D MK II, I think the choice is simple- the new 6D. As has been stated earlier, the 5D MK III would be a better choice, but costs considably more.

The AF in the 6D is as good or better than the 5D MK II. The AF in the 6D and 5D MK II lags way behind the AF of the 7D. Using the center AF point on the 6D works extremely well, even for action shots like at a rodeo. The low light/ high ISO performance is far better on the 6D.

You really need to go to a camera store and handle the different cameras. For me I prefer the feel of the 7D and the 5D MK II. I sometimes get lost when I pick up the 6D after using the 7D or the 5D MK III (my camera of choice). The controls seem to be out of place on the 6D. This is a personal preference- I feel lost without the joystick style switch.
