Canon T2i with the kit 55-250 lens. I couldn't get a good focus with my Tamron 18-270 even after sending it back twice.

I'm having problems with my Sigma 50-500mm getting good crisp shots.....do you think it's because I dropped my lens a while ago?

I just discovered or remembered why you have to use a triod when taking long moon shots... Drove 75 miles to get the perfect shot of the moon over the water and it ended up in the trash bin. Out of focus. So much for VR and being old.

I did that one time also. Now there is a Slik tripod in the trunk of my car, that never comes out except to take the shot! Not going to make that mistake again!

Good idea! And do you keep a camera in your car too?

Ok, but don't forget the camera when you go on a photo shoot somewhere in your car!

Here's an attempt from this evening. It's not great, but none of my moon shots are anything special. If I had gotten this a minute sooner, it would have been "balanced" by the trees. :?

Thanks Brent. You are too kind, but it's not WWCD quality. :-D

Hi Brent. Eclipse tonight early...just after the moon rises over the Pacific I guess. Pretty cloudy here, the leftovers of cyclone Ita. I doubt if we'll see much. Enjoy, and hope you all get some great photos.

This is from tonight but before the eclipse. As luck would happen it is beginning now but the clouds recently rolled in. Camera and lens on the mount and remotely taking pics from the warmth of my house.
