I heard that the color from the new Nikon D4S seems to indicate an in-camera sharpening of an image.
Is it true that the D4 produces a better color image than the D4S.
Please help convince me that the D4S is a better camera than the D4 with regards to the color of the images.
Thank you.

The colors of any high-end DSLR depend less on the sensor and more on the post processing, whether done by the camera or computer software. This is a non-issue. Look at other specs to differentiate the two.

Chelli, it's funny that I feel I should chime in, as a Canon shooter.
Do you shoot a Nikon now? Do you have a lot of glass?
I'm my limited opinion, if you do not have a d4, then yes, the S is a better camera. I don't know if they have the same sensors. If they do, then the colors should be about the same. In the Canon line, the flagship models DO creat a better colored RAW image, and that carries into the finished products. The pixel cells in the flagship cameras are of much higher quality than the lessor models. The pixels are spaced much farther apart, allowing for much less heat build-up and bleed from pixel to pixel. All of this plays into the RAW image produced by the camera. The much more expensive sensors are part of that bigger price tag.
In short, the S model is a better camera than the 4, but not to the extent of replacing the 4, if you already own it. Just my opinion, as it's your money.
If you do not own a Nikon, look at the video, "scott kelby, why I switched to Canon", as he talks a bit of colors produced. And if you are NOT a current Nikon shooter, the 1dx is also worth a lot of consideration.
Chelli, good luck in your quest for the D4s. ;-)

The D4s has a slightly better dynamic range 13.6 vs 13.1 of the D4. The two cameras are closely matched and great performers. Best bang for the buck is the D4 since prices dropped slightly. It really comes down to to whether or not you need a high ISO camera. For studio work I'd say the D4, but for street/ on location shoots then the D4s would make sense to me.

I do have a lot of Nikon glass. I am hoping to decide between the D4 and the D4S.

Not to get too far off topic, but check out this link re sensors.
Why do you need a D4? D800 sensor looks better.

I was not aware that, on the outside, I might appear 'greedy', I was just thinking about how I could, best, help out.

True, I'm being greedy, but you're being generous and compassionate. ;-)

If it's truly between the D4 and D4S then go for the D4S. It's better than the D4. And hurry up! You will love it, being a Nikon shooter.
