Ok...so I had to convert this one to black/white. But it worked..."Honorable Mention" at the state fair. I'll take it (since I didn't think much of the photo initially). Just wanted to share.

Beautiful! Looks like a charcoal drawing ~ nicely done! What did you do to get this result?

Thank you. Starting with a clear image, I used PhotoShop to convert it to b/w by removing the color then ever so gently enhancing the contrast. That was it.

It works for me. B&W's strongest point is showing texture and contrast. You've done well in both arenas here. I like the composition as well.

It can be tough when the opinions are not as kind. I try not to just say that I like a photo(s) but why I think they're good. That way the photographer posting knows the direction they are going works.

Gorgeous and CONGRATULATIONS! :)

(I have a very similar rose photo that I'm especially proud of, but it would kill me to convert a rose to b & w.
I guess that's the only way I'll develop an eye for which photos do well that way and which don't, though.
Thank goodness, editing is not permanent unless intended to be!)

Hey Bob...sometimes I don't know what to say other than it is pleasing to me or I like it because I don't know why I do, I just do...I just don't have the techinal knowledge to go spouting off and lookin' kinda pompous! lol...Hopefully as I learn I can add some tidbits of my own...till then it is like or don't like...You are always so kind..Thanks for not assuming that all of "know it all" as some others do...Linda...
