Good Morning all

This small owl came in and landed on top of one of our birdhouses near the feeders and promptly blended in with the old apple tree that you couldn't see him from 50 feet away.

I took this at f6.0, S640 at 500mm with a Sigma 150-500 and a canon 6d. Converted from raw only, no sharpening. I did change white balance to daylight, it was shot in auto.

Any comments for me to do this better are appreciated.

Yes, Screech Owl. Nice shot.

Looks like a Screech Owl to me and a beautifully photographed one as well.

great shot. i love these little guys. its so hard to find them as they blend into the trees so well. its not so hard to hear them though. they make quite a racket but its enjoyable. i can't help but laugh when i hear one. every winter we get great horned owls (huge!) that move into the woods near my house. i don't know if the screech owls are prey or just don't want to temp fate and they make themselves scarce! late spring and through the summer they will return when the big guys move elsewhere.

I really like that shot and it's well taken I believe. I love the way they blend in with their surroundings.

Thanks for looking and the kind comments

This is the first one I have seen around here and he didn't stay for the whole day after being harassed by the Blue Jays and the Chickadees. It was a little comical to watch but he really looked like he just wanted to sleep.

Tks
