Yes, amazon has them. I got a nikon MC DC2 shutter release with a hold button for a reasonable price. It's not digital or anything, but it works.

A remote release makes long exposures much easier when using your "Bulb" setting and also eliminates camera shake that can occur just from pushing the shutter button. Mirror lockup is another feature that can eliminate camera shake when using a tripod because the mirror swings up when you release the shutter normally and causes vibration. Turning off image stabilization is also recommended. When on a tripod some stabilization systems will hunt and actually create some blurring.

I have the wireless Vello. If I recall, it had more functions and is much more versatile than the less expensive wired models, as it will go easily 50 feet and more. Good luck. ;-)

I have a Vivitar viv-rc-all that works well with one exception.. won't work at temps lower than 15 degrees below 0 F, which if you're in Florida is not a problem but it is here in MN,

I don't expect that to be a problem with my remote here in upstate NY. At 15 below I will be inside, nice and warm, looking at someone else's winter photos!

Just look on ebay and you'll find them. Enter your camera make and model. Around $12 from china but do the trick. you can get them with a timer also.
