I am still having trouble with my PSE 10. I have tried to install it again over the one that is on the computer now and it didn't work. How do I deactivate the serial number to the one that is on the computer now. Then I can start fresh and install the program again.

In the Editor go to the Help menu and select "Deactivate".

When I open my PSE Elements 10, I have either organize or edit. If I choose organize the HELP does not have a deactivate. If I choose edit, it will not open.

There is no "Deactivate" command in the Organizer's Help menu. This command is only available in the Editor's Help menu.

What do you mean you can't open the Editor? Are you launching PSE 10 through the Welcome Screen? Try creating a desktop shortcut to launch the Editor directly. Are you on Windows? Here is the path to the .exe file for the Editor. Right-click on it and select the option to send to the desktop (create a shortcut).

C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 10\PhotoshopElementsEditor

I have a shortcut to PSE Elements 10, however when I open it, there are only two options. One is organizer and the other is edit. I have always used organizer to do my editing. How do I get to the Editor?

If you are on the Welcome Screen, click on the "Edit" button.

If you are inside the Organizer, click on the "Fix" tab in the upper right corner of the screen. Then, choose "Full Photo Edit" from the drop-down menu.

When you click on the Edit you get "Runtime Error. This application has requested Runtime to terminate it in an usual way. You click to close that and then a screen comes up saying, "Adobe PSE 10 has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." You have to close in order to get out of the program. I have the disc in order to reinstall PSE 10 but it won't let me till I deinstall the current one. In order to do that I have to go to Editor in order to deinstall the current serial number. I can not find any place to get to "Editor".

In order to follow the instructions in the link above you need to set your computer to show hidden files and folders. I am assuming you have Windows 7.

I overlooked what you said above. Sorry.

You CAN uninstall and reinstall PSE 10 on the same computer without first deactivating it. When you installed PSE 10 and you activated it, information about your computer was sent to Adobe. This means that, if you are going to just re-install PSE10 on the same computer, the one Adobe knows all about, then there is no problem.

Thank you for all your help. Hate to keep bugging you. Was finally able to get the PSE 10 off the computer. However, when I insert the PSE 10 disc 1 in the computer, it opens Picasa and shows the installer like a picture that is not clickable. I have tried looking for a .exe or an installer file and have had no luck. Appreciate any more help.

I always get the download; I am not familiar with installing Elements from a disc. I don't know why Picasa is coming up. It is my understanding that once you insert the disc and choose a language, the installation wizard will come up and guide you through the process. I don't know if this will work with Elements but I know that sometimes (depending on the software) you can copy/paste the installation files from the disc on your hard drive and install the program from there. I don't know if this will help but, when you get the download for PSE10, the installation file is called PhotoshopElements_10_LS15.

I am sure there are some members here who are experienced at installing Elements from a disc. I hope they will help you. If not, you may consider posting in the Adobe Photoshop Elements forum. This is a forum devoted solely to Elements. Also, some of the members are Adobe employees.
