I used to take my glasses off and simply put one of the earpieces between my teeth.
Later on I started to keep my glasses on, and have been doing so for many years now.
Lately I've been keeping the camera on Auto focus, as I had issues with seeing a sharp image in the viewfinder.
Changes coming, the diagnosis is cataracts and surgery recommended within the next two years. Ugh!
Cataracts are a peice of cake. no pain, little discomfort, and afterwards great vision once again.i've had both eyes done and i've never looked back (pun intended).
I too have the large Hoodman eyecup because I ware glasses it helps very well with focusing my Canon 7D. It allows for no light leak, the one I purchased is made to be used with 5D mklll and 7D.
Whuff & morrisb,
Thank you for your encouragement!
The diagnosis of cataracts was actually made 2 years ago, but it appears that in the last six months they have become a lot worse. They eye doc wants to wait a bit before going for the surgery, just in case there's something else going on as well. For now, I am getting stronger lenses in my spectacles. On the positive side, I can still use my camera, I've only given in and use auto-focus, everything I try and keep on manual.
Setting the diopter helps, but I find if the text in the viewfinder is reasonably sharp, the image is not and vice versa.

I agree. I also use the Hoodman to view the LCD screen. It has liberated me!
