I keep seeing images that are underexposed, OOF, cloudy day, etc.etc. and would really like to know if there is a Pro wildlife photog on this forum that has a sample shot. I know most pros won't use the Tamron but it would be nice to get an accurate sample of what the lens is really capable of at 600mm. I see sample shots all over the net that get oohs and ahs from folks that really don't understand what sharp is. Thanks.

Why don't you buy one and post your shots with it?

Sharp? Yes, and out to the full 600mm. A quich search "Tamron 150-600" will bring up many images here from Regis and others. If you are looking for bench tests go to DXO Mark. ;)

Thank you for the useful information. I did not know about the DXOMark website.

Here is one of mine I consider reasonably sharp and usable. Hope this helps!

Since its not downloadable (and I understand why you might not want to have made it so) it doesn't really illustrate much at that display size.

BTW Tamron does have some professionally shot images on their web site.

Titan, maybe there are not enough of the lenses around to produce a good body of work as you are looking for.
This in not really real-world, but if you go to "Lens Rentals.com", they have listed a Tamron shootout with other like lenses. Though it's not real-world, they do compare it to lenses to which there is an abundance of professional work all over the Internet, such as the Canon 100-400. In that sence it's a usable shootout, since there is a benchmark in the 100-400.
Good luck ;-)

I actually wasn't all that impressed with the bison shots.
I saw others raving about how clear they were but I didn't see it.
I think Regis shots on this site are sharper.

Having made a decision to purchase this lens when they come out with the Nikon mount, what made my decision was the photos that Regis posted. I'm impressed on a lens that is considerably less than the high dollar ones! Just saying......
