Nice. I have only seen the sky like that once. A cold night of fishing on North Carolinas Outer Banks. We were at least 20 miles from the nearest light bulb. We took my fathers dune buggy i.e. fishing buggie and when I got out and looked up said Oh Crap we are in for a rainy night but as my eyes adjusted I realized that it wasn't clouds but stars the most magnificant sky I have ever seen. I am an amatuer astronymer and the stars were soo bright that I had trouble identifying the visiblr planets and constellations.............UNBELIEVABLE. Needless to say I looked at the sky instead of fishing.........we were only catching sharks anyway.. not much fun.

I was using a Nikon D7000 and an 11 to 18 mm lens at 13mm. ISO 6400 at f 2.8 for 30 seconds. 1:30 A.M.

Were you using a star tracking device? I wonder as the stars are stable but their reflections in the water are highly streaked. The image almost looks like a composite to me.

There was a group of us and we did use a star tracker to know where and when the milky way would show up. There was some light painting in the foreground and the water was moving with the breeze.

Wow! If you haven't already, I hope you are going to print that large and hang it on a wall. Beautiful work. You succeeded 100%.
