I have a few of these left, so I will post them as colour/B&W pairs for comparison. All comments are welcome, and I would be interested which version people prefer.

I like both versions but prefer color as a matter of my own taste. I would maybe try to lose the garage in the background; it takes away the rustic from the rustic shed.

Yeah, I know... I already cropped some to get rid of parked cars along the street, but there was no angle I could get without *something* impinging on my photo. There are a load of telephone wires just above the shot, and I was concentrating on getting a decent view without those... These are all taken along a pretty narrow back alley, and it shows...

I like the black and white one, but with touches of modernity removed. May I post a version with the car removed, the garage darkened, and a few other small changed details?

I like both versions as well. I can see the appeal of the character in that shed. Maybe crop tightly on left and then clone/fill in the chunk of house/garage that's left with some shrubs :)

Yes, by all means! I would love to see anyone else's rendering. Should have said that up front...

Ok, this was a slightly different angle, and I was able to clone out the cables and what was left of the more modern building to the left. Better?

I am not a fan of vertical (portrait-style) shots, since almost all my viewing is on screen. The good ones, I use for wallpaper backgrounds. So, I went more with a square format here. Also, I didn't want to lose any of that sky!

Since you mentioned the sky, just thought I'd try a bit more drama :)

PSE 12 - convert to b&w with "vivid landscape" option.

That's nice... I tend to hold back a bit - guess I don't want to push the extremes, so I am wary of pushing the sky that far. It does look good, though. I might go a bit further with some of the remaining ones...

Thanks.

Hi Bloke- here's my rendition of your most excellent capture.
I downloaded your color photo as is and then used Corel Painter Essentials 4 to paint it using a Sargent brush. I let the program run until I liked it, then I used a soft cloner brush for some minor details and followed that up with a hard cloner for specifics. Then I added water color washes of varying hues and intensities, ( I may have gotten carried away with the added leaves on the foreground tree) Then I added some further color variations and finally felt satisfied.
Your photos are awesome and these type sheds are my favorite type of photo painting. Keep em coming friend.

I see now that you have posted a more rural view of the shed, and those look great, and you've got some nice edits already volunteered on those.... but here is the one I did on the black and white version you posted first. I cloned out signs of modern life, and sharpened. Very slight cropping on the left side, too. This is a terrific photo subject, nice work!

These are really something, Bloke. Love them both!
