What causes "Global Warming"?
Is it CO2?

I assume from your query that you accept Global Warming as a fact. Correct?

Yes the world is getting warmer right now. We agree on that. It is not as warm as it was back in the 1300s. The Question is about the cause.

Do you see this as a problem for our future? Yes or no?

Global warming is a figment of somebodys imagination. If it was a fact, why are we colder than we were 700 years ago?

I think the causes of global warming are as diverse as they are complicated. Carbon dioxide build up is certainly a factor.

My basic question on the subject: why don't global warming deniers ever publish peer-reviewed research?

Also, why are the deniers so easily confused by the difference between "weather" and "climate"?

Not trying to be snarky-lust legitimate questions.

It depends. The history of the earth shows that the temperature goes up and down. Man has built cities that will be in trouble when the ice melts and the oceans rise, so that will be a problem.

But warmer than it was in the late 1700s. In fact, last year was the fourth warmest in history.

A figment of somebody's imagination? Are you familiar with the vast amount of peer reviewed research on the subject?

Google Scholar might be a good place for you to start.

"In fact, last year was the fourth warmest in history."
Not true. Recorded history by man.
The evidence recorded in the earth says otherwise.

CO2 has increased. It reflects radiation. It is caused by lots of things as well as burning fossil fuels - warmer it gets more algae blooms, algae produces CO2 like all plants, therefore its circular. We might be cutting the rain forest down but algal blooms can cover huge areas of the oceans without man finding a use for any of it.

In the 1970's scientists expected a decline in temp towards an ice age based on cycles. it didn't happen...therefore a debate as to why started. we then had a decade of warmer temperatures hence 'global warming' however temperatures have not increased for the last 5 - 7 years despite major ice melt at the poles and on most glaciers. Therefore 'global warming' is in question. Also Governments can't afford it now....

Weather cycles - orbit cycles - solar system cycles - all probably have an effect. However, no money to be made in blaming nature so its got to be our fault. We have to buy new tec to save the planet (not).

its not 'imagination' its called a point of view. there is lots of evidence to support both arguments however in Europe research grants were made mainly (only) in support or global warming - nearly all research in the last 20 years had a GW element. USA has always denied GW as it flies in the face of your oil and car lobby. (ours has nearly all been sold to your companies too)

Global warming does not mean that we in the north of the hemisphere will get a tan - more like rust we will get wetter weather and more high winds and storms....so don't buy shares in coconut oil just yet.

Do not confuse global warming with air temperature. Do yourself a favor read a book..Look up the meaning of G.W....Study what is happening to our Polar Region..Do real research..Listen to scientists not TV entertainers..The entire family of nations understands this yet you ask a really dumb question about 700 years ago..so you were probably as hot then as you are now..Do some real research please

"you ask a really dumb question about 700 years ago"
Not a dumb question. Nothing was said about air temperature.
Why insult the man rather than answer his question with facts. Why was it warmer 700 years ago?

If you're not talking temperature what do you mean it was "warmer 700 years ago" ?

It is the Chicken Littleist Syndrome. As my Profile says: "Statistics are numbers, manipulated by a few to justify a cause to the many".
Global warming is just a short term event. You must look at the whole picture of the Earth and it's infrastucture. Under the Crust is magma and as it cools so does the Earth. As it cools the temperature drops until it can no longer sustain life as we know it. Volcanoes also enter into the fator. They are Mother Nature's release valves to release pressure and because of their gasses and pyroplastic flow increace the atmospheric temperature and the green house effect. The temperature of the Earth's core is tranfered into the atmosphre. It is temporary. Human intervention is only a small part.
I am not a rocket scientist but know which end the fire comes out of. Just my opinion
