I'm not trying 2 be rude, I think it's a pretty picture - it just looks a lil out of focus, like the feathers look more clear than his face? It is pretty though ;)
It could be my eyes too.....

It could be a little out of focus. I just got my new camera a couple of weeks ago and I am still learning. You are not being rude MissStephie. All pointers are welcome. Thank you!

Absolutely beautiful, and it's so hard to capture without a slight movement somewhere...don't think your camera is at fault it's just the quick movement of the bird. I have not read all the posts, but would also like to know your camera, lens and shooting distance. L3

Thank you ltruex. I have a Nikon D5100. I used my 18-55 mm lens. I have a feeder set up on my deck and its about 8 feet from the window where I sit to take my pictures.

I'm not familar with the Nikon D5100, but if it has features to sync a flash at any shooting speed and if you have a speed light type that is compatible or can rent one, that would cure such movement...more so at that shooting distance. It's great you have the opertunity to shoot that close, and you should really seek a powerful flash you would really enjoy the results

I have a lot to learn for sure. Wouldn't the flash cause a reflection in the window?

If your camera is tripod mounted and flash either atop the camera with a black card from lower edge of flash to window glass it won't leave a trace of reflection. You can move the flash to another spot again black card the suspected angle a reflection would come, and it will not make it. The trick here is speed for it will capture at movement stopping speed no mater how fast...perhaps a bullet might get by:shock:
