Cool, I'm glad you got a good deal on a D3100. Good luck!

I admit I am just a beginner in photography but I have purchased the Nikon d3100 and have had excellent results with it. I got a good deal on it at my local Walmart and just got the 55-200 mm zoom lens for it and have found only great results with both lens. I have been told by a couple of close friends who are professional photographers that my work is worthy of their praise. So to anyone wanting to get into photography the d3100 is a good place to start.

I also just bought a 3100 as an early Christmas present. The one I was looking to buy came with 2 lenses- 18-55 and 55-200. I did not want to be in situations where I had to change lenses so I found a 3100 at KEH that came with a 18-200 lens that I can hopefully keep on all the time. I haven't had the chance to try it out yet but hopefully the one lens will do all that I need it to.

Just been sitting around trying to get comfortable with some of the features, and read the booklet. I admit that there is a ton to get to know, but in the end I feel that I will have what I need.

How come you didn't take the Ebay bundle? Those two extra wide angle and telephoto lenses with the bag and tripod and other stuff with the new camera and 18-55 kit lens looks mighty tempting to me for $429!

Thanks. I was in Topeka today and stopped in at the camera, video store and picked up the D3100 for $429. And they took my Fujifilm in on trade, not much but if I was to try to sell it on ebay I would have came out about the same. Now time to get to know this one.

Thanks again for the advice.

I have a bag and 2 tripods already. And the store took my old camera in on trade. That made it better and I wont have to deal with ebay or paypal. It was fast and convenient for me.
