Christmas present to Myself

I thought I would buy myself a Christmas present this year. So I sold my 50mm 1.8 and ordered the 50mm 1.4. can't wait to try it ot on my family this Christmas.

I did the same thing six months ago. You're going to love that 1.4. I use mine more than any other lens by far. Have fun.

John.....Just curious, what does the 1.4 give you that the 1.8 doesn't? Can't one step up in ISO give you the same thing? If I'm mistaken I'd like to know.

One step up in ISO is a lot cheaper than a 50mm 1.4, then again he will get a little bit more bokeh than the 1.8.

Enjoy! But why not go the whole way with the Canon 50mm f1.2L lens? It's only $1,100 more. Maybe Santa feels you weren't THAT good.
