A lot of Canon's L lenses are designed for the use with filters! They are not completely weather sealed without the use of a filter.

Most means most... not all. ;)

IMHO, there's got to be a reason for that.

I just recently got back into photography and was told when purchasing filters (ex. CPL UV ND), that the amount of money you pay is the quality and performance you get from your filter. In other words the more you pay, the better the better the filter.
I need feedback on what's the better filter to invest my money in and which ones should I stay away from....
Thanks!

I purchased a 52mm IR720 filter for infra-red shooting; about $12.00 direct from China. Worked fine; probably no better than a $200.00 one from a prestigious vendor.
In fact the only photo I have displayed on this forum was from using this filter. For some strange reason management moved the photo to some other area of the forum.
