Amish in Motion. (Street candid)
Interesting that an Amish girl would be riding this particular cart. It is a sulky and is used for racing. In some parts of the country sulky racing is a big thing. The horses are trained to run, and some of them very fast, without galloping.
In Springfield, IL where I grew up there is a lot of sulky racing activity going all the time at the state fairgrounds. And, of course, a good measure of para-mutual betting.
Who knows, maybe the girl races.

When I drove on the Dollar General dedicated account for Werner (blue trucks) I went to alot of small town stores, some in Amish country. One thing I saw that I wish I had my camera for was a used buggy lot as opposed to a used car lot. One of the strangest things I've seen, as well as horse tie-up bars in the parking lots.

A panned shot of an Amish Girl. I never realized how diverse the buggy's were.
Is she into harness racing? :D
I love it! An Amish hot rod.
Post work suits this scene to perfection. Beautiful.

I no longer try to photograph the Amish after being yelled at. I guess around here they don't care for their photo's taken.
