Composition is used in motion pictures also as witnessed in Ben Stiller's movie 'The Secret Life of Walter Mitty' See examples here: http://imgur.com/a/XrapY

252, the movie industry is into perfection. Why do you think movies cost millions to make?
Ever since I started to use lighting, I am blown away by the lighting in the scenes of movies. The lighting and composition of the blockbusters is absolutely amazing. Those guys definitely know what they are doing.
It never ceases to amaze me the complex lighting and composition that is used in a 1 second long scene. And a movie is two hours long. The more you know about it, the more amazing it is. At least to me. SS

I did a career in broadcast television videography and yes with television, movies, home video, what have you, composition is a really big deal for the viewers.

Most guys take it to extremes that the viewer will never notice but it makes them feel good about their stuff.
