I don't know what I did or how I did it but, my D 600 is shooting two of every picture I shoot. I have it on single I get two I only hear it click once but when I download or upload ( don't want to get that wrong) into lightroom there are two of everything. While I am on here I have a Sigma Macro lens 50mm I was working great on my d600 and D7000 then out of the blue I get the message on the screen EE any help would be appreciated.

You may have it set to save images in RAW and JPEG formats.

2nd question, card contacts may be dirty take the card out and put it back in. Contacts on lens may need cleaning.

Agree that it is likely raw + jpg. If it were taking three images, I would have said iso bracketing.

As to your second question, is it "EE" or "FEE"? FEE would mean you don't have the lenses aperture ring set to the smallest aperture when shooting.

Run the cursor over each of the two thumb-nail images on the screen, and you will (should) see the details .Either raw or Jpeg. You have shot/selected to shoot both in camera.

Also check to see if you have accidentally checked bracketing setting. On mine you can choose any number of duplicate shots.

It is possible that you may have set the camera to automatically back up every shot on to the second memory card. I can't remember the menu settings for this off hand but it may be worth while checking it out in the manual.

Likely you've set the burst mode to two shots. Check your owner's manual for instructions to get out of it and back to single shot.

I am sure it is the RAW + JPG setting as others have suggested

This is indeed your answer. You have many options on how images are written to your card(s). Read that section in your manual. It will all become clear.

The ee is probably a contact issue or you have autofocus on and the aperture is not set to F22 or the smallest, as has already been mentioned.

You should check the aperture setting first, before anything else to get rid of the ee. Set your aperture (the aperture ring on the lens) to the highest possible number.
