Anyone out there any idea where I am going wrong. Elements 10 is the programme but having trouble trying to E mail photos, when I follow the instructions using "share" I come to what appears to be the last action, press "done" which I cannot find. So I goto Elements help section and find a video which refers to Elements 9. See the dilemma I am in.

If you are using a web email, like yahoo, gmail, etc. most embedded email functions within programs will not activate your eMail send function. If you are using your IP based email address, provided by your internet provider, than you would be using a mail utility from the IP mail server, such as soandso_x@webname.com. In that case embedded email in programs will (should) activate your email.

Picasa is slightly different, in that Gmail and Picasa are both Google based products. Elements however will activate mail utilities like Outlook, Thunderbird, Windows Live Mail, etc. and use them for the mail transit. It will not activate a web based eMail without further rather abstract configuration. Hence, no action if you are soandso_x@yahoo.com, or GMail.com, or Hotmail.com....

Rather confusing and a strong argument for NOT trying to use embedded eMail function internal to editing programs.

Much more universally accepted to learn how to do Attachments as a function of any eMail service you use, and how to properly downsize high resolution images to an appropriated size for eMailing.

Trying to give a complete solution for that process is too weighty and cumbersome to try to offer in this confined space.

You may want to check to see if you can find someone who can assist locally, or a tutor on eMail.

All you are going to get here are a variety of answers for every possible different method of eMail and Attachments.

It's just not very do-able with the eMail feature built into programs for editing. Too many possible variants of eMail function.

I will finish with this:

Based on your original post, I suspect you are trying to use the Elements function in combination with a web based email that it can't communicate with, without further configuration of your mail process.

Thanks everyone..I must admit to being completely baffled and admitting defeat called in a friend who is a bit of a wizard but I hate taking too much of his time.I mentioned I could not find a button named "done". I mentioned this to him and he immediately dived in and solved the problem. At the end of the procedure he hunted around and clicked on "file" box and in the options appears the box "send". The book called Photoshop Elements 10 by Nick Vandome misses out clicking on "file". I will contact publishers asking them why I should trust their books in future.
