Everyones carry lense

I carry a few lenses, however the Nikon 24-70 f2.8 stays on the D700, 16-85 f3.5 stays on the D7000.

I predominantly use the Canon 28-135 lens for general shooting as well but am looking to buy the EF-S 17-55mm f2.8 IS USM. Does anyone have this lens? and if yes, how do you like it?

On my D50 I have the standard 18-55mm f3.5-5.6 kit lens. On my D5000 I have a 35mm F1.8

Nikkor 18 - 200 VR, is my walk around lens. Pretty much good for any situation. If I have any of my other lens on the camera I wish I had the 18 - 200 instead, so I just leave it there and carry others but find I usually could have left them home.

My lens of choice was my 28-135 - Canon til i needed to replace it and I got the 18-135 .... that is my everyday lens of choice .....

Carry two cameras. NIKON D200 w/ 18-70mm and D2X w/80-200mm long lens. Love to shoot candid shots when traffic and light is right.

Mostly the lens attached to one of my cameras is my 28-70 f/2.8 L. Depending on what I'm heading for to shoot, it could easily change.

Mine was a 70-300 Tamron. It developed problems that were too expensive to fix, and the lens shop was kind enough to tell me that Tamron had a newer, better 28-300 lens on the market that was also less expensive than a replacement 70-300 and less than fixing the old lens. I bought it and within just a couple of months, it developed the same problems as the 70-300 Tamron lens. This is my third strike with Tamron in just one year so I think they are now on my "do not buy in this century or the next" list.
My current walkaround lens, then is a 50mm Sigma. Doesn't meet my needs at all, so I'm in the market for another ca. 28-300.
