Yes, it is very impressive place. I worked with a guy in the late 50's who went to college there also. Ed Hinke (sp) was his name, haven't seen him for many years. Thanks for viewing.

Beautiful part of Alabama being in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. And the campus grounds are huge. Many years ago the Monks (Benedictine) grew all their own food and slaughtered all their own beef. Glad you enjoyed and shared some photos, been a while since I have seen or been back.

Thanks for viewing, Stoneyi. It would be worth your time to stop and see it on a trip through there. I plan to go back this Spring with a better camera and tripod and get better shots.

Thanks rlaugh! I am sure that it was a labor of love for the monk. He left a beautiful legacy behind.
