I LOVE my D7000!
Also purchased the D600 in Dec 2012.
Don't care to let go of the D7000 though.
You will be thrilled with that camera

I have a D300. Went & got a D7100 as who knows when & if Nikon will ever bring out a replacement for the D300.....Like both cameras for different reasons. Keep your D300 if you can. It will allow you to have different lenses on each...

D300 vs D7000 the D7000 is the winner but if it were me I'd move up to the D7100 the difference in price is well worth the extra dollars. The D7100 is relatively new but I have seen a couple refurbs available.

Just checked out what the D300 is selling for and my advice is to keep it because nobody will give you even close to what it's selling for. Camera shops are out to make money, buy cheap and sell high, that's just business. The used and refurbished D7000s will be available as people feel they want the D7100. So my advice is to keep the D300 and be patient on the D7000, you'll get one cheaper if you wait while saving to buy one and won't get taken for a ride on your D300.....................

For the extra money, I would go for the D7100. I tell ya what, if you really have your heart set on a 7000, you buy me the 7100, body only and I will give you my 7000 in trade.....a win win....

I have the d7000 and just purchased the d7100. Both excellent cameras, but if I was purchasing new I would opt for the d-7100.Better at low light, very good at high ISO with very little grain, sharper and for me the best dx that nikon ever made.Look up Ken Shelby on utube and look at the review. But the d7000 is cheaper and still an excellent camera .Good luck.

Depending on what you shoot have you had any problems with moire with the 7100? Is it significantly sharper?

As far as moire I've only seen it once out of about 800 shots and it was in a sun lit shot with a dark shadow in the background. It was noticeable when blown up to 100 %.As far as sharpness, I would say yes.

Deal!
And it's Kansas City, where we had snow last week. ( You're not the first to think it's Kentucky so I changed it)
