About a month ago DaveJS asked how he could make a fake camera that looked old fashioned that he could hide a digital camera in to take pictures at events. He said he had a plan but did not know what to do about the bellows. I had two Speed Graphics bodies that had been in my basement for 25 years with good bellows (that is all that was good) that should do the trick. I thought about it and decided to try my hand at it. This is what I did - I striped the old body of everything down to the wood. Left the bellows and front alone. Then I built a platform on the back and put the bottom bar of an old flash grip over a hole in the platform. I use this to attach the new camera. Then I just glued 1/8" plywood to the sides and top. Made them big enough to cover my DSLR. Put on some trim. (old metal picture frame) Presto a new OLD Time Camera. This is probably clear as mud but maybe the pictures will clear it up. The camera is a Nikon D90 and I used my 70-210 f/4 zoom. I use live view and can either use the shutter or remote. Have to set the focal length before I put the camera in. - Dave
Great idea. Hope you have lts of fun with it.

Now I WAQNT ONE.
too cool, thinking INSIDE THE BOX!
(I don't really want one)
That is actually pretty cool.
Very nice. So there is no glass in the original lens? This could be a popular attraction at a local fund raiser. Make a wooden tripod and wear period clothes. A wireless setup could send the results to a printer.

The original glass is still in the lens board. It fits my Graphic View Cameras. - Dave
Ugh: You would get better resolution using the camera as it was intended. Oh well now you have camera movements for digital

OK. Now will somebody please come up with a way to mount a full frame DSLR (with battery grip, of course) into a Brownie Hawkeye body?
Inventive to say the least. Have fun with it. DJT
