Wake up KW obummer is the man at the top. You blamed Bush when he was in charge now its our turn to blame OB. If you cant see the way he ids dragging this country down you must be blind. If you dont like the way I spell dont read what I have to say it wont bother me at all. If all you can complain about is the way I hit the keys too bad it only shows how small minded you are. Dose it make you feel better to call people out on their spelling. It only makes you look like a fool. But then again we all know that about you already. I see you dont like to be called out on your slow mindedness. I know you fall in the obummar camp so suck it up and live with the mess hes gotten us in to.

Hal, you continue to make obscure statements. What mess has he gotten us into that I am unaware of ?
I don't mean to call you out on your spelling, but sometimes it is difficult to understand what you are trying to say because so many words are misspelled.
Try using Spellcheck if you can't spell a word. It is easy.

I agree totally with Pepper, the gov't misused our tax money...again! Changes need to be made to SS but it is going to have to be done incrementally. You can't pull the program out from under seniors who depend on it. The gov' t needs to stop growing & wasting funds. Period

Hal, I would leave it to anyone else reading your post and the tone you used about Hispanics and what you said to judge whether or not I am right about you not liking Hispanics. Are you trying to tell us that 1) until you saw Hispanics there were no other ethnic groups other than what you call "Americans" at the SS office ? And 2) Are you trying to tell us that Hispanics are not Americans ? And 3) Other ethnic groups (are they Americans or not [?]) are not Americans ?

You are wrong about the amount of the budget that goes into foreign aid. It is around 1 percent or very close to it, and I don't care what you read. You are simply wrong.

You seem to be unaware of the Constitution and the law about how many terms a president can now serve. A president can now serve a maximum of two terms. Your fears about Obama serving more than this current term are unwarranted. (Actually, he has been rather a good president, despite what you think, and has accomplished quite a bit against total Republican opposition.)

Since he cannot run for another term, he doesn't have to curry favor with anyone to get more votes.

Your idea that it will be China running this country is simply silly. Think about it a bit. Our economies are so entangled that if China made drastic moves against this country they would be shooting themselves in the foot. They own too much of us to want to foul our economy. Your fears on that score are unjustified.

As for Hispanics running the country, Hal, you can argue all you want, but you cannot change demographics. Hispanics will soon be the new majority. Get used to it and salsa. (Actually salsa now outsells catsup, a fact that ought to suggest to you something about population trends.)

Hal81 wrote:
Why did you get the idea I dont like hispanics? I in no way say that at all. I was just stateing what I saw and didn't think it was fare. Before they raided ss it was only for retired americans. And foreign aid is more than 1% the last time I read it in the lib papers. And yes I know it's obommers last term thank God. That is unless he gets us in another war and stays in office like FDR. And you are right about years to come the country will be run by others but I think it will be by china if we dont start paying off what we owe them. Obummer dose have to pay them back for putting him in office. He promest them the free hand outs and he better pay up or look out they will be after his hide.

You won't believe it anyway.

Your post is unsatisfactory because it has no factual substance.

What I would like to know from Hal is how Obama is dragging this country down. Obama is trying to repair the damage W. Bush did. The country was sinking into a mess before Obama took office, and Bush's damage was so severe it has taken incredible work to try to pull it out of the financial mess, yet the Republicans, in their zeal to prevent Obama from succeeding, reject any positive bill that would out -- example: The jobs bill through which much public infrastructure was to be repaired or rebuilt. This would have helped regain jobs, but no, no, no the Republicans wouldn't have it because it originated with the Obama Administration.

(Not that I expect any of this to make a dent on the thinking of the Republicans in this forum. One cannot argue with a closed or absent mind.)

There were other things within his budget that I would strongly disagree with.... I would also disagree with the same budget had it been put forward by a republican... I am not the Obama hater that you may think that I am... I just don't admire his performance as president, but how could I, I have little faith in prolonged application to Keynesian solutions especially when our national debt is as high as it is.... And I certainly don't respect the manner in which he villainizes opposition, not what I expect from the president of our country he should be doing more to put us on the same page instead of in opposition of each other...

I know better, Blurryeyed, than to get overly excited. But even your paragraph quoted above gives me a fuzzy feeling of hope, that human beings who strongly disagree about things can still participate in a rational and civil dialogue---even if it leads nowhere . . . or takes a small forever to get there. I was going to reply to some of the substantive remarks you just made, but on second thought I think I will let them go. I'd rather (sincerely) bask in the glow of this mini-detente of ours. I find it strangely encouraging . . . in what has become a most discouraging, disheartening, and depressing atmosphere of bitter vitriole in our national politics. When I get home from the office this evening, I will tip a glass of Jameson in your direction, Blurry, and toast civility, congeniality, and the sometimes-hard-to-locate American spirit of cooperation. Slainte!

I, much like Bill O'Reilly claims to be, am a very simple man still very much determined by the adventures of my youth.... Simply fill a tumbler with ice and then fill it with Rum, that would be my drink of choice.....

I don't blame Bush or Obama for what has happened to our economy, as you dig into the issues there is plenty of blame to go around and it really falls more to the political process and to both parties than it does to either of these two presidents... I will make no bones about not caring so much about the way this president comports himself and strongly disagree with him on some major issues as the country moves forward, but nor do I care for the oligarchy that has emerged as the ruling class in this country, clearly long before we even knew of the Junior Senator from Illinois...

Cheers!

Hey, we come here for photography anyway and these side issues are just that, side issues. One thing I remember my parents telling me "never start a conversation on Politics, Religion or Taxes if you want everyone to agree with you.". I respect each and everyone of you no matter if we agree or don't agree, we are all entitled to our opinions, for my part I hate American politics for no matter which party is in power it is the citizens who ultimately suffer. If politicians had to live like the average citizen I am sure we would all be better off.
