I got the whole package free because I was a register user. You have to have had any nik filter to get the package. I downloaded them and they all work great except for the HDR so until I figure out the problem I am still using the old version. It seems to not want to save my image in either Lightroom or photoshop. I will uninstall the package and reinstall again. Has anybody else had this problem?

Hi there, could someone please explain to me why after paying a fair amount of money for Photoshop,Lightroom and Elements there are things called pluggins, can the three I've mentioned not do the things plug inns do.
Thanks for all replies. Terry.

If you own any Nik software you get the suite free. I did that yesterday

Plugins are extras that enhance the programs. They add editing materials that the programs are not equipped with.

Go ahead and get it. When I bought the suite it cost me $300.00, also if you have purchesd the suite in the last 5 years (I think) you get the suite for free.

There isn't anything a plugin can do that you can't do in the three programs you mentioned. The advantage is that the same effect can be accomplished in a fraction of the time. Have you ever tried to mask around someone with frizzy hair? Tedious at best. A good plugin, and Nik qualifies, will do that with one mouse click. Nik, and others, like Topaz, have many presets that you can apply in seconds. Don't like the effect? Go back to where you started, and you haven't spent all that time only to delete what you did. It all depends on how much time you spend in PP.

I am a registered user but have not heard from Google. Is there a way to initiate the purchase?

I bought the suite yesterday morning at this site http://www.niksoftware.com/nikcollection/usa/index.php?view=intro%2Fmain.shtml I used "Moats" in the promotion box for an additional 15% off. Since the original software was in excess of $300, I couldn't pass it up. I first saw the software in use at a Mike Moats macro seminar last summer. I used the trial version of Silver Efex Pro while taking a B&W class last fall, and could not believe the control I had over the photo. Even if you only use one or two modules, it's worth the price. I tried the Dfine (noise reduction) module yesterday with amazing results. I'll use it with Lightroom4.

OK, I also did the same and will learn as I believe that the more we have, the better the work flow. Does NIK Suite work as a stand alone App? If so, how does one launch. Also, as with anything else, I assume that the best method of learning is through videos? Do you recommend any one site for this? Thanks all for this as I'm sure the plug in will be useful and the $126 price is a blessing.

I was contacted by Nik on my E mail with the link. Do they have your right e mail? Other than contacting them directly I cannot think of any other way.

If I download and pay, will it install on aperture or photoshop? I have both on my computer? Does anybody know?

While it's loading, it will find all programs it can load to and give you the choice

I have Photoshop CS6, Lightroom, and Photoshop Elements 11 and it installed on all three programs. Didn't have to do anything but install the program. To use it under Elements for example, open a photo and go to Filter and you will see the Nik plugins.

Does anyone have the original email that was sent by Nik (Google), it had download links for those that already have a Nik software. Mistakenly deleted the email! (OOPS)

IT GETS EVEN BETTER!

I already had one of their products. The email offered the entire suite of tools for $0 -- that's right FREE. At first I thought it was a phishing expedition, but it was legit. The entire suite of new tools is now very happy on my Mac Pro and MacBook Pro.

A happy day. See what a company with BILLIONS of $ can do for good will. Now if only M$ and Apple would/could learn a lesson.

Color me happy!
