Hi Guys,

My son and I went out camping a couple weeks back and who knew that we would get a blizzard the day before Halloween. This happened in Norther New Jersey, and if you live in the Northeast you know the storm and the mess it caused.

With that said here are some pictures I took during and after. Let me know what you think.

For the record, they invented houses with heat so that you wouldn't have to go out in weather like this. But since you did, glad you took the camera because those are some nice shots.

I dont know about digital but film cameras always seemed to be problamatic when it came to snow scenes or beach scenes. The light meters never seemed to be able to give ab accurate reading.
The snow in these photographs actually seems like snow. Good pictures, hope you get a ton more snow so you can get some more practice.

Makes me happy to have moved from Edmonton, Canada to Dallas, Texas. :)

I really like #3, the w/b needs to be corrected and with some contrast added it would be wonderful.

Thank you guys for your responses and MWAC thank you for your input. This is exactly what I'm looking for in this forum.

I'm not looking forward for this winter and I told my wife I'm moving to Texas if it's a bad winter.

your very welcome.

I still recall the November day, 6 years ago, when my husband came home from work and told me that we had gotten transferred to Dallas. He was sad, I did my happy dance.

-40 just is so wrong no matter how you try to sell it to me. :)

A lesson I learned when taking pictures during a snow storm is to make sure the camera and lens is totally dry before storing it in the bag overnight. The filter lens froze and thank God nothing else got damaged. Else I would not be able to take the morning shots. The only thing I had to do is remove the filter and start taking pictures. I must admit I was freaking out a little. After I took this picture in the morning.

Sure all I did was adjust the levels in photoshop using the eyedropper for the black and white.

Since you are ok with editing, here is my play at #2.

really quick edit, so it's not as perfect as I would like it, but the kiddies just got home from school and I'm making snacks.
