Well I ranted in my last post. I was very upset. But it's like they just threw this together and sold it without testing it first. It has a lot of nice stuff but I've had so many problems with it I'm just frustrated with it. ..threw this

Well, the only thing Elements does good is fix color problems which it's pretty good at, fixed my white balance problem very well, I like that part, but the rest of it is a joke, menus are extremely restricted, DVD burning quality is poor... very unhappy... my old Nero software I've been using for a few years now does better...

Power Director 13 by Cyberlink will do the job at less than $70. It's a video and slide show editor.
With this program you can adjust a considerable range of settings including white balance.
I've never tried editing videos of more than 10 minutes but if you run into problems with videos of 30 minutes or more, you can consider splitting them into smaller segments (this can easily be done within this program). Remember that if you edit a 30 minute video, you will be applying the modifications to the entire video. This may not be a desired outcome considering the lighting and color variations within the clip.
Good luck

Thanks for this info. Yeah I thought that would probably be the case and I imagine Elements is the same way. I doubt I can pick which parts of the video get the adjustments but I haven't messed around with it enough to know, but that's ok. I can split the videos if I have to regardless of what I end up using. Thanks!

Thanks everyone! I downloaded a trial version of Premier Elements 13. I've only had time to play with it for a few minutes on 1 video and so far it's frickin awesome. The only problem I've ran into so far is I was not able to move the window around so I can move it to my second monitor. I don't like that part but like I said, I have not had time to mess around with it yet. Not sure about how everything works yet by a long way, but I did find temperature and tint controls which is what I used and it did a really good job on the small video I worked with. Thanks again!

Ok thanks! I have Elements 10 which does all I need very well so I only need something that I can do the same thing with to videos. I am going to check that out right now. I just didn't know what to even look for. Thank you very much!

I'm replying to multiple comments now with the same question... getting confused.. lol..
But this Premier Elements does adjust white balance... right?

I've made several videos using Premiere Elements 11 and 12. Combining video from several cameras, my ows camcorder, still images and even included a short clip from the internet (with the owner's permission).

If you need some learning or need clips, music, or other stuff to include, a good place to find those is http://www.muvipix.com - some free stuff, but a subscription for access to not-free stuff is very reasonable.

And this software does adjust white balance right?

Thank you... That looks like a great deal and I wouldn't mind having it but I like the $65.00 Premier elements deal better... lol. I am happy with Elements 10 and I am poor... lol

It is stand alone. If you were one of those people who bought the double pack(like me not paying attention) you got both Elements 11 and Premier Elements

Adobe Premier Elements 13. $65.24 on Amazon. It's the best program I know of.

Awesome... that sounds promising! Does that use the cloud thing where I have to pay a monthly subscription fee or however that works, or is it stand alone? Thank you!

I don't know if Elements does that, I know Photoshop does.
Everything you can do to a photo in Photoshop, you can do to a video!

I know Elements doesn't do video. I'm looking for something similar to Elements that does post process video. I did not know though that Photoshop can do everything to a video that it can do to a photo... but I can't afford a full version of Photoshop. Thank you for the info!

Hi all,
Anyone know of some good software not too expensive (preferably by Adobe), that is good at changing white balance of HD video. I have some very large HD videos that the white balance is off and I want to fix them, so it has to handle very large files recorded in very HD. Don't have much experience in editing videos in that way, or what software to use. I believe Adobe premier CS6 does that, but I can't afford that. Just a partial of that software, like Elements is from the full version of Photoshop for example.

Thank you all!

There are typically two things that kill a flash. A huge amount of use that is way beyond what most folks ever do will eventually result in the actual tube failing. It is unlikely you will ever see that. The other problem is heat damage.

Heat damage is almost always a result of too many full charge flashes in too short a time. This is a problem that can be much worse with certain types of batteries, and almost all rechargeable batteries have a greater risk. They commonly have a slightly lower voltage and a higher current rating (they have a lower internal resistance, so they can supply more current even at a lower voltage). If the battery results in sorter recycle times, there is a problem. Current is the culprit. It recharges the flash capacitor faster, which generates more heat. Do that too many times too fast, and most flash units will suffer fatal damage. (With freshly charged batteries, you can start popping the flash as fast a it will go, and the flash will die before the batteries run out.)

Newer flash units have internal sensing for heat, and will simply shut off until they cool down. If you expect that kind of use, look for one that has heat protection. It is going to cost more, though. And worse, just about the only way to use them is to buy two and switch units when it shuts down.

Bite the bullet and get another flash. But from now forward be aware that too much too fast will kill it.

Good explanation.. thank you for that. I believe that it's exactly what happened. I had good fresh rechargeable batteries and I took a lot of pictures fast for quite awhile. I'm pretty sure now that it's why it quit. Thanks again!

Have you replaced the batteries?

Were the 'hot' batteries rechargeable? Could you have ruined them, somehow - so that the charger 'thinks' they are charged but they won't operate the flash? (I'm speculating here, I don't know if this scenario is even possible.)

Could the over heating have damaged the flash?

Good luck! & keep us infomrmed.

This goes beyond what I'm wanting to know, but yes, they were rechargeable, (good ones.. eneloops), I did replace them, but I don't know if the overheating damaged the flash. I just simply want to know if flash units have a life expectancy where they will eventually always fail. Thanks for your comment!

It may have gone bad but I have flashes from the 70's and still working fine. So really I do expect a flash like the SB600 to last a very long time.

Ok, thanks.. that's one up for it should not have quite
