I was just walking into my house with camera in hand when this guy driving by in a black car stops. He gets out and walks up to me and says, "you didn't take my picture, did you?" in a real nasty tone. I asked him if he was dead from a car accident, a fire, gunshot or hit by a train. If not I wouldn't worry about it. I told him.(I do some forensic photography) What a jerk. He said that there were laws. I laughed and told him that first off, I am standing on my property but I can arrange it so that I can take your photo for any of the before mentioned reasons. 2nd, you were driving on a public street, therefore, in public domain. I also told him that I don't care if you are Homeland Communist Security, I will do as I wish and there is not a thing you can do about it. Try reading the U.S Constitution. I know that our leaders in Washington haven't either. In addition, I would not waste my time or disk space taking a photo of a black, foreign car driving down the street(he was driving a Nissan Ultima). I asked him to please leave before I have you arrested for trespassing. I also told him that I wish people could be arrested for being stupid in public. He did not say a word and got back into his car. What was that all about? He was an old fart. That might explain it.
Final thought: I served my country. I took an oath to protect the constitution. I will still fight to the death to protect it if I had to. On a daily basis now, our legislators are eroding our individual freedoms. For what gain? National security? Give me a break. Personally, I think the Patriot Act was itself an act of sedition. I have absolutely no faith in the Supreme court. A few years back they ruled that blacks were 3/5ths human. And somewhat recently, they allowed a few atheists demand and have the phrase "So help me God" be removed from the plaque with Roosevelt's speech on it at the Arizona Memorial. I bet in a few years we will only be allowed to take photographs in our own homes only. And even this will have restrictions.
My question is this: Even though my camera was off and the lens cap on, Is there a law that restricts us from taking pictures from our own property onto an area of public domain?

Don't have a problem except for the "He was an old fart. That might explain it." statement. I am a old fart so does that put me in that catagory?
