I think it might simply be that the limited number of frames you take with film makes you more selective in your shots. Unless you are processing your own film a 24 frame roll of file will cost upwards of $20 to purchase and process with prints.

When you shoot digital film most of us will maybe take 200+ photos in the same space as we did with the roll of 24

I don’t know about you but culling the photos from a 2 week vacation is a daunting task. Then editing etc. my results from the digital photos is better than I ever got from film.

So the film process is take a few rolls of travel film. Take in for processing. Pull out the keepers. Maybe make an album of 4x6 prints. Maybe get a few enlargements made. Maybe have prints made to give away. You’re done

Digital. Take a few thousand photos. Take them home. Load on computer. Cull or if you prefer edit then cull. Edit. Re-edit. Maybe cull again. Edit. Now maybe you have your final set of photos. Send to Shutterfly. Create a book. Edit the book. Then when I am ready to print the book. Wait for a special. Usually 50% off with unlimited pages and free shipping.

Yes, yes, YES!! .....for me and The Wife, we have moved on from the microwave popcorn stuff. Always seems to have unpoped or goofy things going on! ...and poor taste, to us. Sure, it's convenient, but to what end?!

We use the "Original Whirley Pop Popcorn Maker" (Amazon is yer friend!) stovetop and are VERY satisfied! Tastes like my Grammy used'ta make! We highly recommend!

I love our Whirley pop. Makes great pop corn and is easy to use

What could ever be boring about seeing a beautiful young lass with nothing more than a wet tee shirt on?

Seeing her three times. Especially with that smile on her face.

Very good set of photos.

My first 35mm camera was a Petri 7s which I bought from a guy on ship in 1968. He had just purchased an slr and wanted to buy another lens. I used that camera for the rest of the cruise. Next cruise first stop in Japan I bought a minolta srt 101 slr with a 50mm 1.4 lens.

And as they say. The rest is history.

Could you please advise me at what age I should consider myself senior? I was born in 1963.

I was born in 1948. My mind thinks I’m 27. My body doesn’t agree

Has anyone kept count of the branches mentioned. I’m guessing at Army, Air Force, Navy, Marines and Coastguard

Not to be too blunt...external storage is cheap, all things considered. We must assume that you are only using storage in the computer. Moving less important (or all) photos to external storage will free up the computer's HD.

Resizing for this purpose is a bad approach to saving storage

Totally agree. With an external hd with 8tb dedicated solely to photos would hold all your current photos and new photos for years to come. I would have a second one for backup

I don’t have much inspiration anymore. I typically am a family event photographer, travel photographer and street photographer. I like zoos. Landscapes and so on.

But not so much anything now that my wife has dementia. We don’t travel much anymore. Crowds and strangers bother her.

I do get my camera out at family events and on local outings but it isn’t the same as it used to be. It doesn’t interest me as much as it used to. I have even thought about selling all my gear but also know I would regret doing that.

What caused me to buy my first “real” camera, with interchangeable lenses (Canon T-70), was being stationed at a very remote location overseas. I felt that getting into photography, and trying to actually learn the craft, would be a great way to make the 2 years on a mountain top go by faster.

Do you still have those photos? It would be nice to see a few of them
