I used to be one of those people, and I would comment because I admired what the photographer was doing, photography is art and the cameras and lenses are tools. I had always loved photography but I couldn’t afford the equipment. If people are showing an appreciation for what you are doing, you should just be gracious and say Thank you. You get to do something that many people don’t have the time, money or confidence for.

I have a sister who lives up there. It’s one of my favorite places to go and you’ve captured it so beautifully!!
I see what you mean, great picture by the way! Thank you so much for the feed back! my son is riding this weekend so I'll try it out!!
Thank you very much David, that is very reassuring. I'm never 100% sure that I'm doing this right or even headed in the right direction. I didn't even think to include the Metadata (which I had to google by the way! LOL!) so I will definitely start doing that. I love this site and I've learned a lot from it! You are so right about the parents wanting the picture though. I'm a mom and I would have hated it if I missed watching my own son. I saw so many other parents who just didn't have the time to see their kids compete in between running up and down hills and making sure the kids got to where they needed to be. I might try finding him and the others that I took pictures of to send them their photos! I really appreciate you taking the time to reply and thank you for the kind words, they mean a lot. Take care!
I know right! It was at a the sea otter classic festival and there were so many people! There were spectators on both sides and in the front and back! It was crazy! So when additional people are unavoidable how would I make them less noticeable? Or it just is what it is?
I’ll have to remember that’s for next year, thank you!
So I am a little nervous posting this but if I want to be better I need people who know what they are doing! I have always taken my pictures on auto, but recently I have been attempting to teach myself how to take pictures on Manual mode. That being said, What would you guys try to change or fix about this photo? Any tips for taking better pictures? Oh and why does it look blurry when I post the picture?
