Nice work. The first shot’s worth wall space!
thanks, that is also my favorite
Watching the sunrise over the Atlantic Ocean is awesome, but since it has been a cold spring, I still braved the near freezing temps, found a good spot at dawn, bundled up and waited, of the more than 300 shots I narrowed it down to about a dozen, of that here are a few of my favorite. Shooting directly into the sun poses its own challenges, I opted to shoot on the darker side and lightened up the shadows in PS

I just love this work. so amazing
WOW. very amazing work, I'd love to know more about your process
ROFL.. as a CSM myself I REALLY enjoyed this one, will have to share it...
So the challenge was to tell the story of the "Madness" that is the Cherry Blossoms in Washington DC, all the crowds, the 5K race, and all on a cold Sunday morning. Shots of people taking pictures with their loved ones and the Cherry Blossoms. Of course I had to take my share of pics of the blossoms and birds
Pentax K3II several lens, from my 18mm to my 300mm
Photography standing along the side as the 5K goes by
Young couple under the cherry blossom trees
Leaning to get the shot
Lots of wedding and engagement photos
who cares about the people in the background
even the birds enjoy the cherry blossoms
I tried to get different angles to avoid the trash, but liked these so I wanted to do something with them
So, I braved the ice cold morning to try and get more shots of the Osprey feeding, (sadly no luck) and to my surprise, there was a large piece of a clear plastic bag on the nest. So, I did manage to get some without the trash, but instead decided to use it in the photography and add a simple statement to remind people to pick up their trash
Let me know what you think...
Taken Sunday 3/25/2018 along the Potomac River in Accokeek MD
Pentax K3ii
Sigma Lens 50mm - 500mm
Save a Critter
Hey! is this your trash?
Time to Attack the Litter
Who left their trash?
As I go through and edit and try to figure out what I can do better, as much as I enjoy the fact that the Osprey is directly across from Mount Vernon, it does not make a good background, and a simple shift in my position in shooting will drastically change the background. I am happy with the wing movement and the sharp eye. My Pentax K3ii has a T/A mode that I control the shutter and F stop, and using it in manual focus mode, the frames per second is very good.
Number 5 with a different crop
this is number 5 uncropped, I thought that Mount Vernon in the background may have been too much of a distraction
I live in Prince George's County MD, and Piscataway Park is along the Potomac River, directly across from George Washington's Mount Vernon home, at the end of the fishing pier is a nest that the Osprey have used for years and each spring they come back, make repairs and raise their kids. They are one of my favorite birds to photography and the early morning sun rise is excellent lighting
This year I caught them feeding and nest building,
Pentax K3ii
Sigma lens 50mm - 500mm

Cropped, some color and saturation in photoshop
Always looking for input, what can I do better next time, things to change up, or a different point of view? comments, suggestions are always welcome..
thanks
