Thank you for the suggestions. Yes the focusing is a lot more complicated than I've ever experienced. I'll give your suggestions a go. Spring is around the corner and I'll be snap-happy then. Wish me luck.

I'm quite pleased with my Envy as well. Rugged. Traveled with us in the fifth wheel RV across the country and back.

I apologize for posting my photos with yours Karen. I'm still learning how to use this forum. I've read the directions and still say "huh"? Patti

These were taken at Watkins Glen in New York. Just used my little Lumix as hauling my Nikon would be difficult when climbing 832 steps carved steps in the rocks. Out of over 100 pictures I took that day these are my favorites.

Look for a "gamer" machine, 16 gig RAM, SSD, high end graphics, high end processor, and add a 2 TB external drive for your data. The SSD's are usually limited to 250 or 500 gig and are used for the operating system and your programs.

That's what I did. After having a slug laptop, I found my 'gamer' machine to be like lightning. Fantastic! Patti

In the past with other cameras I had no problems with crispness. That's why I'm concerned/frustrated with the Nikon 750. I use the macro lens, 105mm 1:2G ED and my telephoto 70-3 mm 1:4.5 - 5.6 G. It doesn't seem to matter at what setting I'm using. (I have had Tamron lenses in the past.) I tripod and focus manually and on AF with and without using the timer. I've tried about every setting there is: Scene, A, S, M too. I'm very annoyed. I used to be able to get the flower pistil so crisp, not anymore with this camera. My point and shoot does a better job. I don't have a local individual to review this camera either to see it it's me or the camera.

It was a great rainy day after capturing this image. I used my Lumix point and shoot for a quick shot. It isn't perfect but it gives me a thrill to have been that close to my favorite bird. I couldn't have captured a focused image with my Nikon D750. Seldom/if ever do I get crisp images with my Nikon.
