Great set of bird photos. the canyon is great!
I have the R5 and R7, am considering selling the R5. Too many physical problems, need to reduce weight. Like all my R's, but the R7 seems to fit my needs best of all. Difference in control locations never been a real problem. Would not expect them to be the same.
Fine photos!!Don't stop now, want to see more of your work.
Over the years I have used several different cameras, all Canons. Most were of the PowerShot line until I switched to the to R's. My current camera is the R100. I usually have the RF-s 55-210 lens attached. Which is what I used to take the fox photos. I also keep the RF-s 18-150mm in a pouch in the car as well. I am not a camera phone user. In fact my adult daughter was with me and while she fumbled around to get her phone out to take photos of the fox I took 3. She got a photo of the dirt. To be fair, I have been at this photo business for many years, she has not.
Also, it has helped that since I started using a car camera I have been driving mini vans or SUVs. They all have had a nice place to store the car camera where it was out of sight.
Hope this has been helpful.
for year I have carried a camera in my car. Seldom using it for a quick photo of a critter. Today, thanks to car camera got a photo of a young fox. Not the sharpest photo I have ever taken, but pleasing to me. Spotted the fox, grabbed my car camera got off 3 quick shots.
I agree todays cameras and processing programs have added greatly to the improvement and quality of photographs (depending on the skill of the photographer). BUT, when you can produce an image without a camera it is no longer photography. It is computer art IMHO.
Thanks for sharing these with us.
So it is in the wrong section? How many do we have to go through to find just the right one?
Thanks, I should have known!
Saw this grey squirrel stop, scratched a bare spot on the ground, then rolled around on it before it took off. I have not seen this behavior before even though I have taken hundreds of pictures of squirrels. There are both fox squirrels and grey squirrels in this park.
The squirrel was in shadow when I took the photo.
Why did this ruin your day? It made mine!
I should add, for almost 2 years now I have been suffering from hip and back severe pain. What little photography I have been able to do has mostly been from my car. So, yesterday was special for me, as well as being a first for this species of warbler.
I think sometimes we can get so involved with getting just the right photo we miss out on the fun side of nature photography. I spotted some birds along the road at Funks Grove, IL. Turned out to be a white crowned sparrow and a magnolia warbler. Did I have my top camera and lens with me? No, all I had was what I call my car camera the R100 with the 55-210mm lens. I used it to get a few photos of the birds, and realized that instead of concentrating on getting a great shot, I was just having fun using my car camera! Did need to give the images a bump with Topaz, but it was overall just a fun time for a few moments of photography.
What do you have to loose? I like #1.
