Success!! You were right. It was simple and the Elinchroms fired off the YN trigger no problem at all.

So a big thank you to:
-Manglesphoto
- HT
- Gene51

for taking the time to reply to my problem.

I know my question would have appeared super simple and obvious to you guys but to me - a novice - every new topic seems to be like a Russian doll with more and more layers and things to consider. However, I am not giving up!

Once more this great site and it's contributors have solved a problem I was stuck with .

Finally especially for:

Hi folks

My head spins once more trying to work this out so I thought I'd ask you for help.

I purchased 3 YN600 EX RT ii speedlites with the YN E3 RT ii Trigger. I've managed after a long time to set them up to speak to one another.

I bought these to add to my 2 elinchrom 600's studio lights as I wanted to try a 5 light set up. The elinchroms have skyport triggering gear.

What do I need to buy/do to have the 2 elinchroms to also be triggered by the YN E3 RT ii on the camera?

Any advice gratefully received.

Great news folks. I sat down tonight and looked at the pins. There was one visibly stuck in slightly I gently tried to move it.. voila out it came and my lens is working a treat. Hurrah!!

Thanks once more to all you who took the time to give your suggestions as to how to solve my problem

I am blown away at the depth of your response. Thank you so much for taking the time to share all of your knowledge in trying to solve this problem. I haven’t started trying out any of the suggestions just yet because I have to hand my first assigment in my university course for Sunday. As soon as I’ve done that I’ll have full attention on trying to solve my camera problem.

I’ll report back with how I managed.

I’ve only been on the site a couple of times & each time I do it warms my heart that you are all so generous with your time & advice.

I hope to be in that position too but it’ll take a me while 😉

Thank you for the suggestion of the pins. I’ll look into that tomorrow & see if that’s the problem

Hi

I wonder if any of you knowledgeable folks could shed some light on the following i’m Learning but still very much a beginner.

I have a canon 5d11 i bought second hand it came with a lens cant remember exact spec.

a 50mm 1.4 lens and a 24 to 70 1.4 work perfectly on it now here’s the problem

The lens that came with it which i never used came up with the 00 fault and you couldn’t autofocus or change the aperature so i sold it for parts.

I recently invested in a second hand 70-200 1.4 - but when it arrived it had the same problem. I thought the lens was faulty and sent it back 9it had been a while since I’d forgotten about 1st lens)

I ordered another and it arrived today beautiful, like new and it has the same problem.

How could the camera work with 2 lenses and not two others.

Any help most welcome as i cant really afford to be buying another camera.....

Hi folks. This is my third time in the Hedgehog asking real beginner questions to you but that make my head spin. Once again you have come up trumps 😁 Both answering the question but also giving me suggestions I didn’t even think if. Thanks so much to dveryone who took the time to answer. I’m away to research into your suggestions.

Hiya folks

A lighting question from a rookie. I have spent hours researching this topic myself but I know I don’t know what I need to know- if you know what I mean.

I’m purchasing my first second hand lighting kit to use initially to shoot pets both in my garage at at pets home.

After all my research I did have my eye on a pair of Elinchrom rx600 with soft boxes (£600) However I read something that’s making me worry now they are too powerful.

Should I be going for a lower wattage set. The article said powerful lamps then need a small aperture for lower light. I know that a 300w set would be a stop down?

Any advise would be much appreciated
