I have always owned HP printers and computers and never had issues with them, but then again I'm an IT person.

A friend says her HP Photosmart 5520 is printing pics that are very vivid, oversaturated. HP told her when the carts are below 50 percent, they should be replaced. I have never heard this for any printer. Any thoughts? Thank you for your help.

It might be something as simple as going into your printer properties and change the dpi setting. There may even be a checkbox that says "save on ink". This will use less ink. Without me seeing your print property screen it's hard to tell you which setting to adjust. I'm confident that there is something in the settings that can be adjusted to reduce the amount of ink that sprays on the paper.

I have been shooting a K1000 since 1978. I'm good with perspective and framing. I just wasn't sure if there was a difference between digital and film. I guess the FX vs DX (crop sensor) makes a difference on the lens size compared to a 35mm film. I think I will see if friends have some primes that I can try or I'll look into renting and go play for a couple of days.
Thanks

In answer to your question, Both. I want a fixed length lens that I can use as my "main" or "primary" lens. I think I will look around for a 50 and a 35. I might even try lensrental.com before I purchase.

Thanks

Great, Thank You. I was looking at refurbished glass from Nikon and the 50mm did catch my eye.
Thanks again

I just purchased my first DSLR. I have a D7200. I am still learning to use the camera. I also purchased a 70 - 300 lens. I shoot anything and everything. Nature, Portrait and love shooting live concerts usually indoors. Any suggestions on a lens to use as a prime or do I stay with what I have until I learn the camera? The lens is not a kit lens, they were bought seperately.

Maybe ask one of your Canon friends if you can borrow one of their cameras for yhe class. Also, when you're ready to purchase look at used or remanufactured. You save a lot of money that can be used for accessories or glass.

I was interested in either the Canon T6i or the Nikon D5600. For a couple of dollars more I could get T7i so I thought about that for a while. This weekend I purchased a D7200 with a 70 - 300 lens. It should be delivered sometime this week. I can't wait to try it out. Thank you to everyone for your imput. 😎😉

I have read every response made to my question. I appreciate the serious answers where I was given links or advise on where to do my research and what to consider when making my choice. Now about the girls all dressed up, lets get a look at some of them. 😃

BebuLamar - you make assumptions about things. If I would have started my post that i prefer one brand over the other I might have gotten different answers just because i favor one over the other.
