These were having way too much fun at Disneyland's new Galaxy's Edge venue which opened on May 31st. Granddaughter twice was an engineer aboard the Millenium Falcon flight simulator; I got to pilot the Falcon when I got aboard. Loved making the jump to light speed seated up front on the left side of the cockpit as the captain of the flight sits in the left seat.
Took our one and only grandchild for her first visit to Disneyland; we had reserved passes to access Galaxy's Edge from 11 am until 3 pm on Wednesday June 5th. She got to do the interactive, the Millenium Falcon cockpit simulator twice, as a flight engineer; I did the same simulator once except I got to be the left seat pilot. Disney spared no expense in doing Galaxy's Edge. The storm troopers were having way too much fun!!!!
It's all driven by TV revenue and exposure; that's why NBC cherry picks and gets the games THEY want first.
Congrats on NOT smoothing out the water; I am finding that effect so overused these days. Now, did ya catch any fish? I presume trout?
Have 4 Nikkor manual focus lenses from my film days, all those lenses were made in Japan. Glad I did not sell them off. All 4 did OK on a D7100; however they all do very nicely on a D850. The 28mm f/2.8 does nice work in low light and after dark. Also have a 50mm f/1.4; 55mm f/2.8 Macro and 200mm f/4 with built in sun shade. I like them all.
Had a pair of D7100's for a while; decided to sell one off and put the money towards a D850. Still use the D7100 from time to time and it is my back up body.
There is no pressure on the elk in that area so they just go about their business. I saw multiple small groups along the South Rim in early November a few years back. Got to within less than 50 feet, cows with their young. Still have to be aware, they might appear docile but am sure the cows would protect their young if they had to.
What I saw and did not photograph was the "cougar crossing" sign in the park!!!
I knew NOTHING about the incident until I went to the Grand Canyon myself a few years back, that's when I saw the monument.
I tested in camera HDR with a D7100 a few years back, was pleased with the results. This past month or so have been experimenting with HDR and a D850 which has a slightly different HDR menu which among other things allows you to select the EV you want, 1EV or 2EV or 3EV. This link has three pics using HDR. https://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-589473-1.html
I really like the dragonfly pic!!! How did you get it to pose for you???
While I get it that the Tamron is less expensive than the Nikon version, and for a while I was doing my best to be "frugal" with my gear purchases; I am no longer a fan of Tamron; have had several of their lenses and kept only the 18-270 which was purchased for my D7100. It's now on a D80 and given to my daughter. The pelican shot is heavily cropped, was taken with the Nikon 70-200 on my D7100. The Mexican grey wolf photo, also heavily cropped except it was taken with the 70-200 on a D850. I keep the 70-200 on my D7100 most all the time. I had to sell off some "stuff" to afford the Nikon lens, am happy I made that choice; I do not miss the "stuff" I sold off.
Nice shot and congrats on trying something different. I like that you put something in the foreground of your image; otherwise the image could be boring??? Way too many "experts" on this site for me, and they are quick to challenge experimenting or contrary opinions. I find too many to be condescending, and watch out of you try to play in "their sandbox"!!! Why I seldom post anything here anymore or even leave comments. The attached shots was taken last Friday along the Illinois River; monochrome image was shot around 5:30 pm, the color image shot almost dark along the river. Took both with a 6 stop ND filter and shot in HDR as well. Color shot had a 25 second exposure at f/2.8. Not sure exactly where Lost Lake is located but have visited Mount Hood and been to Timberline Lodge with my granddaughter in June 2017, her first real vacation and first time out to the Pac NW.
This is Larry; he has a summer job; he helps tow a visitor's barge up and down a section of the historic I & M Canal in La Salle County, IL. I & M Canal parallels the Illinois River which carries all the barge traffic now.
I have Vello LCD screen protectors from B & H on both a D7100 and a D850. When I got the D850 that was one of the first things I did, mount the screen protector. I don't leave home without them. Just have to take your time and install them as per the instructions.
