On a trip to Idaho for the eclipse, the lower half of my Eddie Bauer checked bag was opened. It had a tripod and two stainless steel bottles of distilled water (for my CPAP).

TSA probably expected to find a sniper rifle and some artillery shells, per their X-ray.

I am traveling to Idaho to see it. Staying with friends that live in the path of totality so no overpriced hotels for me. The concern, more than clouds, is smoke and haze from the wildfires burning in Oregon and Idaho.

Hi Hedgehogs-
I am reintroducing myself to the photographic hobby, now that I have recently retired. In the '70's, I had a Canon SLR with all of the gadgets and accessories and took mostly auto racing pictures on Ektachrome. In the '90's, I used a Canon digital for family photos etc. (Don't ask about the '80's:)

I recently (Feb.) purchased a Canon SX60SH (I like the super zoom). With the purchase of some spare batteries, I received a code to download this Vivitar software. Has anyone here had experience with it or have any recommendations? I am not yet to the point of tweaking each image with RAW data or Photoshop but would like to get my feet wet. Is this worthwhile? Thanks.

-Ron
