The photo was taken on Arizona's Verde River --water in the desert, but not very much. Bald Eagles nest there and I have previously seen them (usually the young ones) hunt from trees along the banks. With no notice, This one chose to use the tree I stood beneath. As they often do, the Gods of Exposure neglected to coordinate the best angle of the Sonoran sun with the limited time to catch focus
At least I got the eye --and the talons do for motive and message.

Yep --mostly struggled to retain the right color of the Eagle and diminish the overexposed the patches of sunlight on wing...
