Here are some lilacs from last summer. I was struck by not only the value contrasts, but also the color temperature differences. I love the smell of lilacs that linger on a gentle breeze.

Only one photo, B is a reverse of A; D is a reverse of C. A & B is composed/cropped differently than C & D. All four are the same photo - just manipulated differentiations toy.

I just received a new (refurbished) Nikkor P 70-300 f4.5-5.6E FX lens. After many years of putting off replacing a Tamron of the same range, that I broke when it fell forward while on a tripod (that's a different story!), I couldn't resist the opportunity that Nikon's sale of refurbished equipment.

I am very impressed with this lens. It has near silent auto focus, the images are as sharp as any I have taken. As my wife said "Happy birthday, happy father's day, merry christmas and happy anniversary"!

Camera is a Nikon D7100 that was just returned from a thorough cleaning and maintenance from Nikon. They did a fantastic job - it feels like new!

On my last visit to the ancestral homelands. These are remnants of an ancient Neolithic center atop the Slieve na Calliagh hills in Co Meath in Ireland. This is a stunning location with view best expressed by this photo. Taken with Nikon D-7100 and 18 - 200 mm lens, hand held.

Nice photos.
PS Do you ever volunteer time to charities, service organizations or other wonderful organizations?
Or is it all about you?
Just wondering from your post.

Why, yes, in fact I do volunteer for charities and have often donated commissions for charitable fund raising events. Do you?

I find it very difficult to find the time to work on my photos and post them. A more than full time job, maintaining my painting efforts and managing a NY apartment and tending the needs of our country home leaves me with precious little time for my activities such as tennis, golf, bicycle riding and leisure. I took the week off between Christmas and New Year and with grey drizzly weather I found some time. These photos were taken over the course of 3 - 4 years. I haven't even gone through all the photos of all the files, sigh...

So sorry, I will refrain from posting uncorrected orientation. As I use a laptop, it's easy to turn it 90 degrees to view vertical photographs; clearly not so with table top computers - something I shall keep in mind!

I don't understand

Very simply, while I was waiting for a train in New London, Ct. I turned around and that is what I saw. Perhaps I should have titled it it, "While Waiting for a Train".
