Hi jeep daddy

I am licensed by the FAA. I paid the fee, took the remote pilot test, (passed with 87% which was below the 90% I was aiming for), and have my remote pilots certificate. So for the next 2 years or until they decide to hit us up with more "fees", tests, rules, or regulations I'm good to go by the FAA's guidelines. I took the test to use my drone for commercial use as well as recreational, not for weight reasons.

Yes I am licensed, insured, and ready to go. Not looking to get rich, but looking to make a couple of bucks doing what I love to help offset the costs. Just looking for some friendly advice from others to help me cover my a$$ while in in the field.

Thanks.

I have been hired to do drone photography of some events in my area by a company that has never used them before and I have never had to sign a contract to use my drone before these new laws to take photos and sell them, so my question is this, has anyone here had to use a contract in drone photography and if so could you give me some pointers as to what I should look out for and what I should be aware of to make sure that I got my a$$ covered as well? I don't see where this contract should read any different than a regular contract for photos, but eh, what do I know? Thanks......

I just purchased Adobe CC for Photographers ( the $9.99 plan) I was old by someone that if you cancel after a year Lightroom remains functional but not photoshop- is there any validity to this ?? Ive trierd searching but cant seem to find anything on this ............ doesn't seem logical to me.........

I had PS CC for a while and let it lapse. The PS quit working, but I was still able to use the LR feature. The 'develop' module did NOT work though. However I was able to use it in conjunction with 1on1's 'perfect suite 9' and 'RAW' programing, (but with those programs LR isn't needed at all), but since then I have gone back to the PS CC with LR and that also includes Bridge, free updates on all programs, posting to web pages, and sharing with all your devices. Spend the 10 bucks and keep the system.....Just my 2 cents

We read about people being hit by trains all the time. Whether taking pics, walking, or sleeping on the tracks. I don't get it....don't they hear it? Don't they feel it? Even the fast moving ones send out a advanced warning of noise, horn or just plain vibratory noise, but it's not like you don't know it's coming. I know that this is a tragedy, and it sucks for the family and friends who don't have her around anymore, but I just don't get it.....

No matter where you shoot, train tracks (illegal), fast moving river bank, frozen lake, roadside, back yard, where ever......BE CAREFUL....BE SMART!!!

as a newbe it's way too soon to think of upgrading. spend a year or so getting to know your present equipment. make a list of it's short comings as you become aware of them. then you'll be in a position to make a decision.

Not a newbie to photography, but rather a newbie to this wonderful site. :) Been clicking the shutter for years now and just thinking I would like to take it to the next level is all and trying to get peoples opinions and personal experience before making a purchase. Sometimes the reviews that one reads are biased, and sometimes they aren't personal use, but rather someone who took it out for a week and shot some pics with it. Not a long term, everyday use kind of thing that I was looking for.

Just curious, what did you find lacking in your Nikon D3300? That is what I own presently, with 3 DX lens.
As you mentioned, you are a newbie, as am I, so experience is what I am personally striving to achieve, before I upgrade to more expensive DSLR system, I have much learning to do, and also realize a more complicated Camera will make my learning experience more difficult, so I will wait until I am a more seasoned DSLR Photographer, before I attempt to upgrade my equipment. This will require patience on my part, but I know it will be beneficial in my Photography future. I do wish you the best in all of your future photography decisions.
Just curious, what did you find lacking in your Ni... (show quote)

I have no squabbles with the D3300 at all for the most part. It is very economical, compact, versatile, and has a great processor. I have taken some fabulous Photo's with it in the past and there will be more in the future, however I am looking for something that has a better dynamic range and a better low light ISO quality. I would also like to get a better focus area. With the D3300 there are only 11 focus points with 1 cross focus so I was wanting something with a better overall focus range when I'm out in the woods, or needing to get that "quick" shot. With that said. I love the 3300. I don't know what the shutter life is, but I will be a sad person when/if it dies.

Good luck with your photo journey, I wish you the best of luck and fortune.

I want to thank all and everyone for their help, expertise, input and explanations. They say information is power, and the more information I can gain on this decision, the more comfortable I will be with my choice. Once again I thank you and look forward to reading and posting more on here as time allows me to.

Hello I'm a newbie here and this subject has probably been talked about a million times, but here is my question, with a brief (I hope), explaination. I am an amatuer trying to break into the pro/semi pro area. But I've been using a Nikon d3300 and want something with more. The d3300 is awesome in most cases so far. After countless articles and surveys, and comparisons, I'm in the same spot......confused. I'm a nikon man, (I just love the feel ok?), and I see the options are limitless depending on your budget. I see that the D500 is a crop sensor, but it also seems to out shoot the D750 and D810 in some areas. Would I be better off with a DX or a FX? It seems a lot of companies hiring require a FF/FX camera setup, but I'm not sure if it would be necessary if I free lance. Of course my budget is limited, just like everyone else's, But for what I want to do and where I want to go I can make things happen if I have to, within reason. And speaking of reasons, please don't give me a generic answer, but give me some good reasons why you feel the way you do about your answer. (?) I thank you in advance for all your support.
